This is one of the few Dominican places in the area. They are very stingy with their mangu portions. It's insane to me! As a Dominican im insulted. If I served the portion they did to my dad or any family member it would have gotten yelled at. And the amount of oil leaking out of the mangu container was even crazier. But that being said the LITERAL 5 bites I did have of the mangu was tasty. The salami was fried nicely along with the eggs and fried cheese. I just cannot get over the portion size. I order from them three weekends in a row and it was the same each and every time so I know it wasn't a fluke. Do betteeerrrr. I want to support my local businesses and fellow Dominicans but y'all are making it hard.

The restaurant and service is ok. The food is great. Very tasty. I don't recommend order takeout on a busy night. It's usually isn't the best food. Their family meal is the best to order.

I'm all the way in my feelings missing my favorite NY food. This by far is my favorite restaurant for Latin cuisine in NY. I've sat in this spot many times and shared a meal with friends and family. Every time I'm in NY, I make it my business to stop by. My favorites are the avocado salad, grilled steak with onions and CHICKEN CHICHARRONES, Love them!! #givingempress ?

Be careful @ particular Spanish restaurant. Went to Elaina's 43 restaurant on Francis Lewis Blvd. For years, this particular restaurant has played "funny math" with the meal totals although the food is good. Now, they have a "Clover" system tabulating the total of our bills. This system, like all electronic cash registered, is pre-set by human beings to figure out the sales tax for a given order. At this place, PLEASE LOOK AT TOUR BILL! There is a charge under the 8.875% sales tax that's listed as "Redondeo" which in Spanish, means "Rounding". In my case, 6 cents was added to my bill because of this. THIS IS A BUSINESS DECISION TO RIP OFF THE CUSTOMER. This means every customer that buys a meal from this restaurant is paying MORE (NEVER ROUNDED LESS) than what they are supposed to pay. It's a shame that a restaurant, especially with decent food, decides to pad their pockets on their customers back. Don't be fooled to let the Manager or workers tell you that they don't know why the bill is tacking that fee onto THEIR manmade bill. Curious to know if anyone else had this experience at Elaina's.

Great local Dominican restaurant. It's a decent ambience, booths as you enter the establishment, and tables on the other side for larger parties. TV's to watch sports or movies, whatever is playing. The food is always good, and decently priced. There is hardly ever a wait, and the times I've gone with a larger party, they've always been very accommodating. The service is always very friendly and attentive, and the wait times for your food isn't long at all.

Went for takeout and ended up buying more things when I was there because the vibe is great and the employeees were really respectful. My favorite is the tres golpes, which they make most of the day if you are looking for a spot that has it after lunch time. They season the mangu to perfection. And get the coffee and ask for some cinnamon in it! Its delicious!

Elena's would've gotten a higher rating years ago but it's not the same as it was. However, my go to here now is the Chicharrón de pollo because it never disappoints. Everything else is a hit or miss, but their chicharrón de pollo always slaps. The other thing that always go there for is their batidos (shakes) their passion fruit & mango shakes are top tier. I haven't sat in the restaurant in many years so can't say what the service is now. I only order to go. It's always clean. Next time I get the food I'll update with the pics.
