This was not the roti we were expecting but WOW was it exactly the roti we needed. So delicious. Between my husband and I we ate the majority of the menu and it was all good. Each item worked as standalone components as well as a coordinated whole. The staff here is lovely and welcoming and was happy to answer all our questions about their food. Personally, I preferred the boneless beef simply so I didn't have to worry about bones however the goat was tender and delicious too. The curry isn't very spicy, just a little spicy, but it is so very flavorful. Douse everything you get with the tamarind sauce and thank me later.

Save your money and go to Richmond Hill for quality Trinidadian food at a cheaper price. This is a buss- up-shut Roti I just bought from them. It smells like it was cooked with oil oil and on a dirty surface. I've never seen anything like this. It is flat,

Take out mostly just two small tables inside. Food was good. They only took cash when we went.

Amazing prices and food services. The cashier and server was so friendly and helpful & not only that she give us their special at a discounted price for spending so much. She suggested the local sorrel… delicious. I would surely go back because of her hospitality

As a Trini not asking for too much or the perfectPlate of food.. the food here is simply not up to par. I ordered a veggie roti with buss up skins... they had no spinach so she said she would give me a rice dinner instead. The pumpkin was spicy. The rice was no good. The curry potato wasn't tasty and it was spicy. Just a poor execution. For someone who isn't from the islands and doesn't know the difference... they may like it... but for me the taste just wasn't there. Honestly scale back on the hot pepper. It's overbearing and takes away from the food. Doesn't represent Trini food well at all.

I don't know anything about Trinidadian food, but I got the dhalpuri roti with veggies inside. It had chickpeas, potatoes, spinach and pumpkin inside. I got it with pepper sauce. I paid $10 in cash. It was a little confusing since there wasn't a menu. The chickpeas part was like chana masala, and the pumpkin was really soft and a little sweet. The mixture of textures and sweetness and spiciness was fun. I got it to go and ate it with my biking friends in Brookville Park. I thought I wouldn't finish it, but then I did. I had the energy to bike back to Manhattan, so I suppose eating it all was a good decision.

Went here for lunch yesterday and ordered the goat roti. The roti was very tasty but I thought I'd was way too much bone. I am so use to goat roti with very little bone. I would eat here again and just voice my concerns. $14 for a goat roti is too much

I've ordered from Ali's before, and I assumed it would be a great spot to have in rosedale, instead of heading to Richmond hill. Boy was I WRONG.Doubles? 2.5/10 Chan a wasn't really all that, bars was too thick and chokes you like a dry Popeyes biscuit if you're not careful. Aloo pie? Unsurprisingly the same issue. I ordered an aloo pie with shrimp. Everything was dry and I had to literally beg for extra gravy for my shrimp pie. SmhPrices aren't that stellar, definitely not a go to spot for me. Stick to trincity if you're looking to get roti shop quality in queens.
