Nice place, friendly staff and great atmosphere. A few of us visited here several times last week while staying nearby in Astoria. Would happily return the next time I’m in the area.
Fresh tasty beer. Great choices too. No food served but the pub master recommended the deli/sandwich shop just 2 doors down. And allowed me to enjoy the sandwich in the tavern. Terrific lunch. The Italian combo and a local pilsner.
The Tavern is an Astoria classic, a warm, friendly bar that's always a pleasure to stop by. Marc is the man, if he's working, he's my favorite bartender in Queens. I miss the barrel of peanuts from before 2020, not sure if they'll come back, but it is what it is. I have many great memories of trivia nights, watching sports, and St Patrick's Days here, and I hope they're here for many years to come. A proper Guinness pour too!
