I stopped by BZ Grill in Astoria for a quick lunch and left seriously impressed. The owner, Margarita, is a super nice, hardworking lady who clearly takes pride in her food — everything is made fresh and with care.

I ordered the Bifteki Sandwich Lunch Special, which comes with fries. The bifteki (a seasoned Greek-style all-beef patty) was packed with flavor — juicy, perfectly grilled over charcoal, and I could taste a hint of cumin and other warm spices....

Tried this place 2 days in a row. First day, we tried the platter for 2 people, came with pork & chicken gyro and sausage/burger version with rice and it was good. Portions can be better though.
Second day, tried the Chicken gyro sandwich and they added fries. Looked pretty huge but surprisingly light and delicious! Not a pretty long wait for orders to go since they make it fresh upon ordering, the staff always greets you and have been nice and friendly!

I’ve been a repeat customer here for the past 6 years even used to drive from Long Island just to get their food. Not sure what has happened but I got 1 gyro, 1 souvlaki platter, and 1 order of Greek fries for take out and it was $50 and took 30 minutes. After we ordered and paid, a group of the guy behind the grills friends came in and he decided to make all of their food and bring it to them first after we already paid and were waiting for a while.
