Freaking love the food here and the service is some of the best. I recommend trying them out when ever you have a chance.

We haven't been here for a very long time. I cannot even remember why not. It is very convenient being located on Union Turnpike, just before you hit Lakeville Road. There is a big parking lot for the stores but you can only get in from 271st. Once parked you go thru an entrance in the fence and a few feet from the restaurant. Cardini sticks out because of it's rounded front. I believe that tables may have been removed to open the space when covid hit. When we arrived there were 2 other tables occupied. The place really isn't very big but it was comfortable. There was only 1 waitress and 1 bus girl. This is where the slowdown occurs. it took awhile to get bread on the table and to give our order. Other reviewers have the same complaint. But by the time we finished dinner i think I figured it out. Meals are made as they are ordered, not in an en masse way. so you do have to wait a bit. The owner brings out the meal. The main course includes soup, pasta and coffee or tea. Prices are reasonable. I had the chicken romano and my wife had eggplant parm as did our friend. The minestrone soup was excellent. Lots of veggies . One thing that always annoys me is the pasta never stays hot . this is true wherever we eat. My dish was really good. A chicken cutlet stuffed with eggplant and smothered with cheese. I liked the place enough that I will be going there for a luncheon after the winter with my seniors group and ordering from the lunch menu.

So I had driven by this place many times and finally gave it a try . It is on Union Turnpike but has a parking lot in the back . It is a small , cozy place and only had one waiter the night we went . It took a longer than average time getting the basics , and a very long time for the food , especially the main courses . The appetizers were average ; we shared baked clams and fried calamari . My fradiavolo sauce lacked any heat - They might have brought the wrong sauce but I didn’t complain . We liked the main courses a lot ; my veal pizziola was terrific , and friends enjoyed the chicken parm with eggplant and the seafood combo . My side of pasta was huge - for a small upcharge they offer upgrades on the pasta side so I sampled their white clam sauce which was ok . I would recommend coming if you have time to spare , as it wasn’t really busy but we waited a long time for the food . Desserts were good , as was the espresso . The house Cabernet was nothing special ; house wines are offered in half and full carafes .

Always satisfied when I go here. It’s great authentic fresh Italian food with decent prices and specials. Cozy, clean. romantic restaurant that’s not loud and crowded most times. with nice tasteful music to enhance the environment. Very close and convenient to home. Invited family and friends and they’re just as impressed. So it’s now our primary go to place whenever the desire for good, reasonably priced food and a pleasant relaxing atmosphere hits us!

We found this place when we used to live in the neighborhood. Its a cute little italian spot with authentic, quality food. I always get the chicken piccata and my husband usually gets whatever special they have and according to him, they're all delicious! Service is also really great and they are family owned which I love. They're never too busy even on weekends. Come and enjoy a nice quite delicious dinner with Cafe Cardini!

The food is ok. But the service is horrible.I waited a 1 hour and half to get my entree..That way too much time for chicken marsala with pasta.I told the woman at the front cash register She didn't really care or apologize .There are better choices elsewhere
