They used to be halal HMS approved .but they are no longer. So, please be cautious about visiting this place from now on.
Their food is amazing, Best hot chicken spot and so underrated, I like it more than Daves or any hot chicken spot. The service is amazing, they are generous with the sauce and not stingy. They’re also very nice. Their sauce is my favorite!!

This place is disgusting. Filthy bathroom and I saw last time I visited I witnessed worker used same glove that he accepted cash with to cook the chicken. 🤮🤮 Also I got sick from eating here. Disgusting. I reported to NYC department of health and mental hygiene. So they will be doing inspection.

I ate here yesterday 2025 Dec 5.
Portions and flavor are good, price is decent. Pretty good for a Dave's knockoff. Spice levels run a bit hot. Their sauce is bangin. The inside is pretty barebones; I wasn't sure if they were open or not, because they don't have any signs or menus up inside. There are two menus on the counter itself.
A number of reviews mentioned getting overcharged. I was not. I do want to point out that they have updated their menu prices since those reviews (see my photo), I personally paid cash so no surprise charges afterwards, and they don't have a POS system, they calculate your total with an old school calculator. I got a mac-n-chick and 2 sliders n side, $15 and $16 on the menu, it came out to $31.
At least one review mentioned them losing their Halal certification. I see it in the corner of their menu, but not sure how up to date that is. I personally don't care for it.
Also, I could not find their Dept of Health letter grade anywhere. While A is obviously the standard, I personally eat at B restaurants, though I have not tried a C yet. I don't know where these guys stand.
The inside is barebones as I said. There are tables and booths to sit in, but there are some supplies and equipment around, like they're not quite open yet. They have no menus or signage up inside, just two handheld menus laying on the counter.
The staff is very friendly, and service was quick. They have 7 spice levels (plus one no spice) just like Dave's Hot Chicken, but they run hotter than Dave's. If you know what level you like at Dave's, get one lower here.
Overall, I was skeptical about this place at first because of the reviews, and the fact that it looks a bit sketchy from the outside, but the food is delicious and good value, and it's a great Dave's alternative. I love the sauce and love the spice levels. I am glad I tried it and I will certainly go back.
EDIT: I noticed they have a $10 lunch special with a sandwich and fries.

Update: No longer HMS verified. I will never be eating here.
I’ve ordered from here a few times within the last couple of years, so you could say I’m a loyal customer. Restaurant could use some work from the inside for customers who like to dine in. It doesn’t seem like they give particular attention to the customer experience but it is fast food like Dave’s so that is to be expected. The spice levels are not on par with Sam’s Hot Chicken in Hillside which they are allegedly partners OR share recipes with (I am unsure). I wish the price wouldn’t increase practically every time I order food from here. There needs to be transparency with payment methods and tax, which other customers have brought up. Once I came during lunch time, they refused to apply the lunch time price specials which is a bummer. Please don’t advertise deals you won’t actually enact, it’s extremely disappointing. However, the food is good enough for me to keep coming back. Ordered from here last night and got the single slider but was given a single tender instead.

Walked in at 10:45 doors open.. people in the kitchen. They told me they are closed and it says they close at 11. Not cool

Portions were great and the service was quick, and the food was tasty, but I have what I previously considered a lower-end-of-medium spice tolerance and the *mild* was way, way too spicy for me. Know your spice tolerance, then round down. Also the “Texas toast” was just a slice of regular toasted white sandwich bread.

Good food, good portions, and good atmosphere. Just make sure you don’t choose the extra spicy options unless you can handle them!
