The Alcapurrias here are amazing.
It reminds us of PR and the way my grandmother made them!!!
Drinks are great.
Staff is fun and the owners are down to earth.
My go to plates here is the Picadera Platter!

First and last time ,wifey and i came here and waited and hour plus for our food and it Never came out guess they forgot.🤔
The owners need a lesson in hospitality and how to be nice. The female owner is rude and gives dirty looks and the food has grown to suck. They make us look bad as Puerto Rican.

I love how cute this restaurant is. The ambiance was very nostalgic to PR culture. I really appreciate how the menu offered items that reminisced to my childhood and true island food. The server was so gracious and knowledgeable. I would def come back here again.

Update Edit 2025: Unfortunately this plane has now become more of a drinking spot and food is smaller portion/ tastes frozen and so pricey. Food and vibe have changed considerably. We no longer go there.
Original review: Stopped by this evening with my husband and son and had the best authentic boricua style food aside from my in-law’s cooking !
So hard to find Puerto Rican restaurants anywhere and we are so lucky to have our very own here in Ozone Park.
For apps, we ordered the alcapurrias which had a generous amount of perfectly seasoned ground beef. They were nice and thinly crisped on the outside, the way a fritter should be, and actual plantain flavor similar to banana leaf from a pastele which could be tasted throughout. Yum!
Next up, bacalaitos. They were great. Light, fluffy and flavorful. Not salty or greasy at all. My son loved those a lot.
For platters, my son had the chrome burger which he said he was great. My hubby had the breaded chicken which was perfect. It had a nice pica de gallo on the side with some sofrito seasoning, uhhh they need to add a little more of that stuff because I stole his. (Seriously though, please add a little more) Haha
I had the churrasco platter with white rice and beans. Steak was done perfectly and tender. The habichuelas were flavored well and the perfect consistency. My husband even had an olive in his beans which rarely happens when dining out.
Passion fruit mojito a must! Def stop by. It has a cool family friendly atmosphere, but also wanna grab a drink vibe and great music. Owners greeted us, and staff checked on us frequently. Will def be back.
Update after going a few times: Salmon is great, tripleta YUM! My son loves this dish. Pork taco must have been great because i scarfed mine down. The yucca fries are good and a large portion. Best tostones ever so fresh and yellow. The house salad is also always fresh. Not to my liking: paparellena, unfortunately the meat is not seasoned enough nor is the potato filling it’s just bland, but on the upside it’s not greasy, but still not worth ordering. The empanadas are also average. I do hope they add soup options in the future or at least come fall/winter time. Oh and the frozen Hennessy Sangria is great 💜.

Very disappointed. Ordered delivery. First taste of the mofongo, I said “the cook was changed “. It wasn’t as moist. It was dry. The vinaigrette onions and tomatoes are usually cut in small size. Not t this time. The garlic sauce for the mofongo did not have the same taste. The alcapurias were dry and taste burnt. The mango chicken wings did not have the same flavor as usual. I rave over this place to everyone how this has been the only place to get real Puerto Rican flavors. Honestly, I felt as though there’s no where to go from here. I placed the order on Tuesday, just in case. The people here are amazing though.
