I placed an order through uber eats. They didn't have the item and then I had to cancel on the Uber eats app. No mention by bakery that there would be a charge or better yet a profit from uber eats so then uber charged me 15 dollars for the cancelation.
When I called the bakery they told me too bad. So it's okay for the bakery to receive my 15 dollars for no goods.
That's unbelievable business practice and should be ashamed of themselves.
The first time I came to this bakery, there was a woman who was super helpful and sweet. She was informative on prices and even recommended options to try. The pastries were delicious too. So my mom and i decided to come back again.
Yesterday, 10/27, I asked for 2 conchas in the window and a different cashier (tiny Spanish woman) told me they were $2 each (even though the real price is 1.50, that’s what i was charged last time and that is the correct price.)
I said okay, and i also got 6* ($2 each) spider donuts from the window. Plus a cake slice.
All together (1.50(2x) + 12.00 + 5.00) should have $20 (or 21.76 with tax). The woman charged me $27.22 on my card and the receipt doesn’t show which items i got. After catching on, i asked why she charged me $5 more. She claims she charged me for a bread i was holding. I did not buy this bread, my mom did. So she charged me AND my mom for the bread.
It still doesn’t explain why she was overcharging the conchas either. I believe that worker charges extra to pocket the money (involuntary tip.) She didn’t give back the money until we had to EXPLAIN it to her that she overcharged me, and charged me $5 more for something i did not have.
Be careful coming into this bakery, they will charge extra if you aren’t educated on their actual prices. They try to hide it by putting it under “custom”.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at COCOpastel Bakery. When I first visited, the staff assured me they could decorate a cake based on the photo I provided. I gave them clear instructions, asked for a small cake, and showed them exactly how I wanted it decorated.
However, when I went to pick it up, I was shocked. The decoration was awful and looked nothing like what I had requested. To make matters worse, they made the cake much larger than I had asked for. The bakery is quite expensive for the level of skill they demonstrated, and I wouldn’t recommend them for custom cake decorations.
The only redeeming factor was that the cake tasted good, but even that was marred by the fact that they used some kind of black dye that stained everything it touched. It was nearly impossible to wash off. Overall, it was a frustrating experience, and I don't believe their services are worth the cost.

Only in Middle Village could a mediocre bakery stay in business, I’m sad to say. Every pastry or cake I have gotten from here is not very good. I haven’t tried their breakfast but don’t feel inclined to judging from their pastries.

You didn't have to do anything complicated, just put an image of Homer, the image was poorly cropped, poorly detailed, the truth is, very bad work, I hope it tastes good at least

I went to this place, July 2, 2023, ordered a tiramisu, red velvet donut and 2 chicken empanada. Went home and tasted the tiramisu, it was a moldy piece of cake, dry and cream tasted sour. Threw it away. Then I tasted the red velvet donut, it was bad also. It was dry and hard.
I didn't taste the 2 chicken empanada yet. I am scared to taste them, because it could be yucky too!!!
The lady at the counter was nice tho' but their food are old, gross and spoiled. Never again!!!
Negative 5 star for the awful spoiled food and 2 stars for the pleasant lady.
Please sell fresh food not days old food!!!
Dont go there.
I'm sorry but today I had a bad day 8 days ago I ordered a cake and just the day I went for my order they didn't do anything, I went home very disappointed thinking what I would give it to my child ?If they can't make a cake, they had 8 days to call the client and leave it until the last minute, not to mention that I was waiting for 2 hours ? honesty above all, don't be irresponsible, whatever happened, let the clients call..? not one more order. The worst service. ?
Friendly staff, great selection of pastries and cake. Great place to get a cup of coffee and breakfast. If you are interested in a Madi Gras ( Louisiana) cinnamon danish cake, make sure to be very specific, because they have another version called The Three King's cake (Rosca de Reyes, Mexicana), which is more of a bread cake.
Really tasty pastries, best chocolate cake I’ve had in years
