Had the most intense food poisoning I’ve had in a really really long time after eating here. Food is unsanitary.

All the meat and stuff was frozen so not great and very expensive. Service was super fast and friendly though. They need to provide better dining tools like a ladle and a skimmer. Not the best but good enough and very expensive.

it was nice when i first learned about the place, it felt convenient to have a hotpot restaurant central in between manhattan, queens & brooklyn. despite the prices being premium as a pay per plate restaurant with a bill easily exceeding $100 even just for 2, the service sucks. feels like the lights are on but no ones home. service is very slow and inattentive, in the last few visits they’ve also started to forget half my order. for the high price tag, its not worth it. not to mention my stomach can ache from eating here and another person has mentioned they dont have a health rating up. much easier to make the trek to flushing or just go to manhattan

After eating hot pot, I got home feeling sick. I thought it was just my stomach. Then I checked the restaurant's hygiene rating. Guess what? I found their most recent health department inspection results. They failed every time. And yet, the city government allowed them to continue operating. They didn't even post Grade Pending outside.

Really disappointing experience at Da Long Yi Hot Pot in Queens.
When we walked in, there was only one table eating — the whole restaurant was empty, which already felt strange. Now I understand why.

I ordered the pork rib knife-cut noodles, but they brought out regular supermarket noodles — cold ones! When I asked to switch to the proper knife-cut noodles, the waiter just said “no.”
They didn’t have maocai (which was on the menu), so I had to settle for the spicy stir-fry pot, which came out way too salty.
Even a bowl of rice took 15 minutes to arrive, and it was cold too.

With food this bad, slow service, and an empty restaurant, it’s no surprise they might be going out of business soon. Definitely not coming back.

This location is pretty standard. Portion was normal but prices slightly high. Servers were low-key and the restaurant was clean.

Basically order what you like to go with the hotpot. Nothing went wrong!

the staff here is super friendly and nice don't get me wrong, the food here is also super good but i'm just salty at the fact that they only have AYCE after 9pm and every other time of the day they only do a la carte, other than that their opening hours are kind of short too

Yesterday, on the Mid-Autumn Festival night, we brought our parents and children to have a meal together. We usually go to Flushing for hot pot, but we didn't expect such a good hot pot so close to LIC. There are many special dishes, all of which taste good. The bell shrimp slider and egg yolk shrimp slider are both good. The medium spicy base is just right. I will try the spiciest one next time.

But what makes me come back is the great service. The person who served our table was Tao, who was very attentive and provided us with soup and vegetables in a timely manner. One time, the soup accidentally spilled. They quickly replaced us with a new pot of soup and replenished various dishes. Before leaving, we were even allowed to taste the homemade soy milk in the store. Not because of these dishes, but because it can be seen from these actions that Tao really cares. He takes care of our family with intention. He hopes that we can eat happily and not be unhappy because of accidents. He only observes such subtle things out of kindness. , the service is so attentive. This kind of service is no longer common in fast-paced hot pot restaurants, and I hope that this original intention can be maintained. Thank you Tao for giving us the opportunity to take our children and parents to enjoy this wonderful experience. We will come back for food soon. I wish you a happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

In addition, the ladies and gentlemen in all the stores are very friendly. When passing by, they will subconsciously check the table to see if there is anyone who needs service. They will also say hello and say thank you for coming. It feels very friendly, like home away from home.

Thank you for your delicious food and beautiful hearts.

Kid-friendliness: It would be better to prepare some small children's plates instead of plastic boxes

It was the first time I heard a restaurant charges an additional $8 for solo diners on top of the listed buffet price per person. This extra charge was communicated informally and was not listed anywhere on the menu or on any visible signage inside or outside the restaurant. While the amount is small, it feels arbitrary and off, as it's a charge specifically for a "single eater."

I noticed that the clean bowls under the sauce station had food remnants in them. I checked three different bowls in a row, and each had food pieces stuck inside. It gave the impression that the bowls might have been rinsed in a bucket of water with food scraps floating on the surface rather than under running water.

The Brown Sugar Ciba (fried sticky rice sticks with brown sugar sauce) had an unpleasant texture due to too much water being mixed into the flour, causing them to fall apart after frying. Unfortunately, this was the worst version of this dish I've had at any similar restaurant. It seemed as though they were trying to stretch the ingredients by watering down the mix.

Some portions were notably small, with each order containing only two slices of something, which seemed minimal even by buffet standards. I understand the idea of preventing customers from wasting, but this tiny portion can encourage people over ordering, too.

On the positive side, I enjoyed the peanut snacks available above the sauce section. The servers were friendly and attentive, even toward the end of their shift. The shrimp paste was good, and the portion was reasonable, though limited to one order per table. The buffet snack menu is interesting with good options. Finally, it was a nice touch that soft drinks were included in the buffet price, offering free soda.

I don’t think I’ll be returning. The arbitrary extra charge for solo diners feels off-putting and doesn’t seem logical, which raises concerns about other potentially arbitrary practices behind the scenes. Additionally, the clean bowls with visible food remnants stuck to them are another strike.

1. I ordered some crispy pork at his place, and for the first time, I encountered a bunch of Sichuan peppercorns in it. I couldn’t even swallow it. You’d be hard-pressed to find such a culinary nightmare anywhere else in the world.
2. The plum juice was 80% ice, and I’m left wondering, what’s the deal with that? Are they just trying to cut costs on ingredients? I was almost done with my meal, and the ice in the plum juice still hadn’t melted. It’s like it was meant to freeze your molars.
3. The cleanliness was a bit lacking.

The dinner buffet experience is terrible. Show up at the door front at 9PM the reception told us to wait while the whole restaurant is 2/3 empty.
