Don't let Gandalf's scowling face discourage you! This pastry cafe is a MUST GO. We tried a little of everything, but my personal favorite (so far), was the pizza croissant. I've had A LOT of pastry in my time (my son went to the Culinary Institute and he's a pastry fanatic), but I swear to you, Elevenses' croissants are AMAZING. This cafe has the best baked goods my taste buds have had the pleasure of experiencing. The owner is so creative and buys quality produce and ingredients and sells everything at a fair price. Upon entering, you get the amazing aroma of butter and coffee, what's better than that? We have a lot of bakeries and cafes in nyc / Astoria, and I always find myself going back to Elevenses because I know that whatever I get will be delicious, guaranteed.
