I’ve been searching for a chicharrones spot in NYC for a long time and I’m glad I finally found a spot in Flushing! I got the chicharrones with rice and beans and potato salad (comes with half an avocado). Every aspect of the meal was delicious. The pork was perfectly crispy, the rice was soft and delicious. The beans also paired perfectly with the rice.
The staff was also super sweet and friendly. I would definitely come back for more and for breakfast. I saw a lot of New York breakfast friendly options on the menu for a very reasonable price. They take cash, credit card, and apple pay!

The service at this Colombian restaurant was friendly and attentive, which we really appreciated.
The main course was okay, but I was surprised that the beans were charged separately as a side without being clearly explained in advance. That felt unexpected.
I also ordered a Greek salad, but it wasn’t prepared in a traditional way. The cheese was not feta, and the salad included ingredients like lettuce and avocado. It tasted fine, but it felt more like a regular house salad with their own cultural cheese rather than a Greek salad as described on the menu.
Overall, the service was good, but clearer menu descriptions and pricing transparency would really improve the experience.

El Gustazo Empanadas was such a satisfying meal. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and made with care. I ordered the grilled chicken with rice, a beets salad, and lentil soup — and each part hit the mark. The grilled chicken was juicy and flavorful, the rice was perfectly cooked, the beets salad was refreshing and balanced, and the lentil soup was warm, hearty, and comforting without feeling heavy. If you want a place that feels wholesome and filling while still tasting like real home-style cooking, this is it. I’ll definitely be back.

Affordable colombian homestyle food. We usually order in from the place. This time we sat and ate at the restaurant. They had TVs on with colombian news and then music. We ordered the daily special beef soup and some ribs. The soup came with rice choice of salad a slice of avocado. We ordered blackebery juice.

This is my second time come here. The last time the same food I ordered and it was delicious. So I order again today. But I change the soup as a lentail soup. It taste savory. the Portion is enough for 1 person. Service was so-so. But I will come back again for the food here

Ambiance is not great but the food is good and affordable. Our server Sorelly was awesome. They don’t sell fruit juices only coffee, soda and water. There is also additional charge for gratuity and credit card processing fee. Anytime I am in the area I stop in to get a nice bowl of lentejas.

We ate here twice during a recent stay in the area for US Open. Very friendly staff and food was fresh and delicious. We tried their famous empanadas as well as chicken gyros. We would come back if in the area again.

I walked past El Gustazo de Empanadas at first because the windows are completely covered with shades, making it easy to miss if you’re just passing by. The signage is subtle, so you really have to pay attention to find it.
Inside, I noticed a “grade pending” sign—but because the shades cover everything, you wouldn’t know until you’re already seated. I lowkey regret looking up their inspection after we had already ordered 😩 On top of that, there were a few flies buzzing around, so we just prayed we wouldn’t get sick.
As for the food: the empanadas were just okay, but the pique, chorizo, and chicharrón were all really good. Overall, we still enjoyed the food, but the hidden signage, average empanadas, and flies make it a bit of a mixed bag
