I really enjoyed my meal here. I’ve not really tried much caribbean food in the past but i really liked this, and i went with my Dominican friend who eats meat and she really liked it too.
Best vegan dining experience. Nice calm atmosphere, very clean , and nice staff. App and entres chefs kiss. I will be bacc.
Decided to head from Manhattan to Brooklyn to dine at HAAM as I’ve been wanting to try their food for a while. It did not disappoint. I ordered their island onigiri, mofongo, and a guava juice. Everything was delicious. I especially enjoyed the presentation of the mofongo. Can’t wait to come back and try more things on their menu.
The food was freshhhh, there was a wait on the bus up roti because it was being made fresh, well worth the wait !! The steak was 👌👌 would love to try more of the menu and we will if ever in NYC again. Staff were not over friendly when we first arrived but were pleasant enough. The venue had a nice cosy vibe to it.
Great tasting food, good portions, good service.
Great menu. Friendly staff. Went for brunch.

I visited HAAM on Sunday night with friends. It was just after 5pm and the restaurant was not busy. The host seated us quickly and we ordered apps and Drinks. The waitress was friendly and was very helpful with the menu. The drinks were good and having a fresh coconut as an option was a nice touch.
We ordered the Curry Chik’n Wontons, an app that I don't remember, and Yuh Motha’s Ceviche. I would highly recommend the Ceviche.
There was a 20-30 minute wait between the appetizers and the entrees.
We ordered the Chimichurri Chunk Steak, Jerk Tamarind Oyster Mushroom Burger, and the Patacon de Jerk Mushrooms. The Streak was the best, but all 3 of the entrees were lukewarm and the dipping sauce, for the Yukka fries, were fridge cold.
The waitress picked up the other dishes and we declined dessert. The last person left in our group had a few bites left. The host approached and I thought he was going to bring the check, but he began to explain that we had been here for 90 minutes and they only allocate that amount of time per party. He asked us to either have our food boxed up or move to the bar so that a reservation could be seated.
The table next to us left before we finished and that table never got a reserved sign, but they seated a couple.
The host and a random waitress apologized for their rudeness. We then got the $200+ check for our lukewarm meals and rude service. This was not worth the money. I would only go back for a drink, the Ceviche, and I would sit at the bar so that I can eat in peace and without a time frame.

Just leaving this restaurant and the food is excellent, clean, healthy and most importantly DELICIOUS!!! The staff is warm and welcoming. JoJo the manager and Rosa, our waitress were the nicest, and quickly willing to assist us with a slight mishap. I’m visiting from Los Angeles where I get to eat at some of the best and tastiest vegan restaurants and I truly wish they had a HAAM near me in sunny Cali.

The staff was really friendly and attentive. They were mindful of when to serve each dish so we were bombarded with all the food at once. The music reminded me of being on the parkway for Labor Day. Loved it!

Vegan Caribbean food! What else needs to be said. This is not an everyday find! Staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was inventive and fun.
Vegetarian options: Menu is 100% vegan!
Kid-friendliness: We took our 4 and 7 year old. Went early. Music was loud so they didn't have to be so quiet! Staff was very sweet to them!

As a vegetarian, I’ve had this place on my list since it opened. It’s super cute once you walk in. The Caribbean ambience is definitely present. All the options seemed delicious and I love that it was a mix of Dominican, Puerto Rican, and West Indian foods. We got the wontons which were a bit small but very tasty. We got the side of Mac and cheese which has a delicious kick to it. Our entrees were the mushroom burger, which was absolutely delicious, and the buss up shut roti , which was very authentic and tasty. Will be going back!!
