Jackson Heights has no shortage of great food, and this branch of the Homemade Taqueria is no exception. The simple dining room is very relaxed, almost cafeteria-style. The menu is broken down by category: tacos, tortas, encheladas, nachos, quessadillas, tostadas, burritos, huaraches, and picaditas.Given that the tortillas are homemade (hence the name), we ordered a couple of tacos, an order of huaraches, and some guacamole. As expected, the tortillas and, therefore, the chips were excellent. They also offer fresh juice, so I ordered a lemonade and watched them squeeze fresh lime into the blender, which was terrific. The food arrived with three sauces: a roasted tomatillo salsa, a “guacamole” style sauce, and a spice chile sauce. All were hard to stop eating. Of the two tacos we ordered, the Beria was much better. The chicken taco was a little bland, but that’s what the salsa was for. The Huaraches were tasty; I ordered them with Al Pastor, which came with lots of pineapple mixed in.Many people ordered quesadillas, which looked fantastic as well.If you are in the area, it’s a fun spot to pop in and have a quick bite. You can even sit on the stools by the window and watch the tortillas being made outside. It’s funny that they are made (literally) outside of both the kitchen and the restaurant, but who cares? They were great.

I have been there several times, this time I was waiting for my food for over 25 minutes and it never came out. I asked the yellow haired girl to cancel it instead of apologizing, she got angry, she was very rude, I really don't recommend this place, keep walking until you find more options.

Meat was hard. I have not tasted a chicken cutlet torta where the chicken supposed to be hard . It had a good flavor. If they work on the meat. This place would be top notchKid-friendliness: YesWheelchair accessibility: No

Wow, absolutely delicious. Tostadas were nice and crispy, and they held up really well as take out. Chicken was perfectly cooked and flavorful. Al pastor tacos were delicious and well cooked with some of the most delicious pineapple I've ever eaten. I've tried so much al pastor around the city, and this is some of my favorite. The bistec was my least favorite of the 3 meats, but it was still good. Also very well cooked, but it tasted mostly of salt and meat, less other seasonings. The quesadilla was my least favorite dish but it was still good.I didn't have the salsa rojo, but the verde and avocado salsa were fantastic. Amazing Mexican food in Jackson Heights.

Poor service and poor food quality. Waited over 50mins just to get half of my order. When food arrived it was so cold and the meat was just fat and nerves. Last time I will be consuming. Don’t waste your time and money.

A solid choice if you’re looking for Mexican food ??Homemade Taqueria features a wide range of meals and they’re all at decent prices. The portions are bigger than what I get at most taquerias, so I’d recommend you go with your stomach empty. I’m vegetarian and they easily have options for me, like the veggie tacos, veggie nachos, cheese quesadilla, amongst others. Their Jamaica is also tasty. This is one of my go-to spots.
