There’s a pretty big selection of vegan options here. Everything I tried was pretty good, I especially loved the tteokbokki and the sundubu Updated from previous review on 2026-01-28
Great vegan options! They are called out as vegan on the menu. Food was delicious and service was great.

Adorable spot with ample street parking. The food was homey and delicious. I had the kimchi sundubu that came with white rice and three banchans. Left extremely satisfied!

I ordered takeout. I ordered the seafood soup for the family. They said no flavor and only 1 shrimp, 1 mussel and no other seafood ingredients that was mentioned on the menu.

This is some of the best Korean food I’ve ever had in NYC, hands down. From their hearty stews like 삼계탕 (samgyetang - boiled chicken with porridge), to their incredibly tender & seasoned meat delicacies, like 누룩 삼겹살 (specially aged & fermented pork belly), to their crispy 전 (savory pancakes), they do it all, 10 out of 10.
The service is also fantastic! The husband and wife who run the show are incredibly kind and true expert chefs who are enthusiastic to share what they love. Despite being so full by the end, it was difficult to leave because of how kind they were. A true gem in the one and only Queens, NY!

Incredibly great atmosphere. The decor is like cafe meets nostalgic countryside meets quiet library/museum. While eating I could not stop looking around, it is very clear that love was put into this restaurant, small details everywhere. The food was really good too. Our favorites were the pork belly and the chive pancakes (it was the perfect amount of crispy.) I hope more people visit this is a perfect place for a casual date or lunch with friends (there is even a thrift store down across the street). After leaving I could not stop thinking about it. 🙂↕️❤️

**If you are looking for authentic Korean food, I strongly do NOT recommend this restaurant.
2-3years ago, we came here and had an amazing experience — the food was delicious and the service was so warm and kind that I left a heartfelt, detailed review.
Recently, I missed that sense of comfort and decided to make a special drive to come back. Unfortunately, this visit was a complete disappointment and completely changed my impression of this place.
The menu had changed significantly, so I asked the owner for a recommendation. Instead of helping, he responded with a cold, dismissive tone, saying “Just order whatever you want,” as if we were bothering him and needed to hurry up. We were so taken aback that we awkwardly rushed to choose something while feeling very uncomfortable.
As I wasn’t feeling well, I was debating whether to order samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) or grilled chicken. While we were still deciding, the owner overheard our conversation and suddenly said, “So you want that one?” and started writing the order down without confirming. We had to stop him and explain what we actually wanted, which was extremely awkward.
While waiting for our food, we were served the side dishes and chopsticks. For a Korean restaurant charging $25–$30 per dish (we spent 100$) , I was shocked to see disposable wooden chopsticks — the kind typically used for takeout.
• Kimchi: It had a musty, off flavor and tasted nothing like authentic Korean kimchi.
• The only edible side dish was the cucumber.
• The tomato and cilantro salad — I can’t eat cilantro, and they didn’t even ask if it was okay. This dish, pictured, is something I’ve never seen on a proper Korean table.
During our meal, we overheard the owner saying things like, “No Chinese customers today. I wish more Chinese people would come, even for pickup.”
At that moment, I realized that the side dishes seemed to have been catered to a completely different palate — not authentic Korean cuisine.
When my samgyetang arrived, it was another disappointment.
Traditionally, samgyetang includes ginseng, jujube, and glutinous rice.
This version contained only a small amount of glutinous rice mixed with quinoa ? — no ginseng, no jujube.
Even worse, the chicken itself was shockingly tiny, almost like it came from a baby chick.
As shown in the photo, the drumstick was literally smaller than my finger.
I’ve had young chicken soup before, but I’ve never seen one this undersized and underwhelming.
Other dishes were equally disappointing:
• The pajeon (green onion pancake) was so greasy that it looked like it was sitting in a pool of oil, as seen in the photo.
• The grilled pork belly was unbearably salty — it tasted as though it had been soaked in salt. Even after eating an entire bowl of rice, the saltiness was overwhelming.
We were so hungry that we forced ourselves to eat, focusing only on filling our stomachs. But on the way home, we felt bloated and unwell from how salty and greasy everything was. This will definitely be our last visit.
The fond memories we had of this place are now completely replaced by this terrible experience. I just hope people don’t think this is what traditional Korean food is supposed to be.
It is truly disappointing that a place with the beautiful Korean name “Jangdokdae” (traditional Korean clay pot) is serving food and service like this.

Feels like eating at mom’s kitchen again, the lady is very nice, I think she had argues with someone from HappyCow before, I try to give her the HappyCow stickers she refused to accept it and said she doesn’t like the people from HappyCow , she explained that this is her culture food and the person try to ask her reject her own culture or something. I’m not sure what happen back then but all I know is that she is a nice Korean lady and I like her udon and pancakes , she doesn’t have japchae but her stir fried udon is just like japchae . This place feels like a mom and pap kind of family own business , I like the details with the decoration of interior , and I’m sorry that someone gave you bad experiences from HappyCow

To start this off, my family and I agreed this was the best Korean food we've ever had! I wish we lived in the area so we could come here again sooner haha. Cute little mom and pop's place.. even the menus were homemade with little bits of information given for certain items! (No artificial foods or anything here btw.. all homemade!)
Before getting food we were given 3 delicious side dishes. The drink I got was a sweet rice punch which was very good. But appetizer we had was a scallion pancake and it was DELISH. Perfectly crispy with tons of scallion.
Then we had their broccoli and tofu rice dish, bulgogi udon, and regular bulgogi. It was all very flavorful with good portions! And at the end we were given three pieces of pineapple for free which was very nice.
Staff was also lovely! And we had a very nice chat. ❤️
