Food was cooked poorly and poorly seasoned. Dry and flavorless generally. One side was okay but more American chinese. Took a long time to arrive. Servers were inattentive and forgot orders and menus. The restaurant was too loud to talk.

The food is delicious here- no question! It was fairly empty when my friend and I met up for a drink before going to a Mets game. The problem was when the check arrived and the cost of our drink was $17. On the menu, it was printed as $15.

When we asked why— and their reason was it was an old menu. We asked well can you honor the printed price? They said no, there’s nothing we can do and vaguely motioned towards the POS. We then asked, isn’t there happy hour? This question went unanswered. So we left to continue on to the game.

We walked outside and the sidewalk sign clearly read: MON-FRI 3-6 Cocktails $12. This was disappointing that they would not take ownership of the misprint or the happy hour policy! Not sure if we would go back based on the poor service, despite them being friendly and polite.

Kasthamandap is my absolute favorite place to go! The food is so authentic,it seriously tastes just like home. I can never get enough of it! The service is amazing too, they’re always super accommodating and make you feel really welcome. If you haven’t been yet, you’re missing out!

Overall fine experience with this Nepalese place. Server didn’t bother to inform us of the menu: We ordered a side dish that was already included in the platter we ordered and she didn’t let us know we were double ordering, asked for Coke Zero and she said yes we have that then gave us Diet Coke. Little things. Momos were good. Love the dumpling skin. Lentil cracker appetizer was overly salty. Appreciate the spiciness of the dishes. Wouldn’t come here again as there are many Nepalese options in the area. Place was kinda dark and musty

What can we say...my better half and I @ IT again.
In the most specials of days of the year...when The Good Lord brought the Love of my life to earth.
We landed here... two words....
Muy Delicioso. Every dish... impressive, but it comes short to their Service.
They surprised her with a cake and song.
Thank you very much!
Kasthamandap... is the Man you Dap for his employee selection, felt like a regular.
Stared, booked marked coming back.
Bravo, I tip my hat thank you.

We went restaurant couple of time, everything was good but this time we decided for to go and ordered the food but the packing was so worse. They packed everything at the same box. And the quantity of food was so little according to the price.

I'm not sure how this place is still in business. We waited an hour to receive our food, and there was no apology from the server or the manager. When we finally received our meal, the momo was dry, and the sausage was excessively salty. We had to wave at the server just to get her attention for water. Unable to wait any longer, we cancelled our remaining order and went to another restaurant. We will never return and would warn others to stay away from this establishment.

It was our first time here and didn’t get a chance to try the food, so we don’t know what to say about of food. This review is sole about management. Please, keep up the reputation you build, I know you have put a lot of effort to get here, and you could do better! We were there and waited almost 2 hours. There was some event going on, we understand it will be overwhelming to take care of an event plus your guest. That’s why you need plan beforehand if there is some event booking. I am sure it wasn’t a walk-in event, and you just can’t say there is an event going on and that’s the reason it’s taking time to get order ready! 2 hours and no food at the table, common you could do better!!! If we wouldn’t have ordered drinks, we would be staring at empty place and table for hour and a half. We finally decided to leave after almost 2 hours wait with no food but only with drinks in empty stomach. This was first visit and will be last!!

Kasthamandap Restaurant & Bar; A Taste of Nepal in NYC

Tucked along Roosevelt Avenue, Kasthamandap offers a vibrant escape into Nepali culture with its museum-like decor, live music, and warm hospitality. The menu is a celebration of Himalayan flavors, don’t miss the volcano momos, momos Platter, or the signature Kasthamandap platter. Whether you’re sipping a smoked Old Fashioned or sharing spicy snacks with friends, the atmosphere is cozy, festive, and full of heart.
