very good very popular long time food truck on the corner of Steinway and Ditmars. Fast service and with a smile each time. Super casual of course, grab and go kind of eat although they do have some chairs along the sidewalk.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this place deserves it. I gave King Souvlaki the benefit of the doubt after my first visit - rude service (especially from the owner?) and mediocre food. On my second visit, I ended up with food poisoning, which points to serious hygiene and food safety issues. The truck area is dirty, and the smoke and noise show no regard for neighbors. With so many great Greek spots in Astoria, this isn’t worth the risk.

Chicken souvlaki platter with rice is $15 - such a good price. Comes with fresh pita bread and salad and homemade sauce. That sauce is beyond good!! Hands down such a good place and good taste.

Atmosphere: First, you'll feel the good vibes from the employees at this place. I mean, they're welcoming and friendly.
Service: Honestly, I have mixed feelings in this part. As I've said before, they're welcoming and friendly. However, the preparation of my order is the reason why I'm giving this place two starts. If it weren't for their friendly service, I would give them one or no stars.
Food: I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Hero Sandwich. I saw the guy grab the 'cooked' chicken from a section that apparently keeps the food warm and placed it on my hero. At first, I thought, "That's a huge hero for a good price!". Little did I know, it came with a little surprise. The meat felt weird as I gave it my first bite. Then, I went on to discover that most of the chicken pieces were undercooked! I gave it three bites with a couple of chicken pieces that were 90% cooked and just decided to throw it away after that. Thank God, I did not get food poisoned. Hopefully, it didn't happen to other people, and it was just not my day when I decided to buy from them.
Price: What can I say? Food with that kind of quality shouldn't even be sold.

Place was recommended as the best Greek food in the area we are staying. The portion sizes are large and filling. The price was reasonable and the food and service was absolutely fantastic! Thank you for a wonderful meal!

Stale pitta bread, rotten tomato, skimped meat. This place is horrible. Waste of money and they don’t take card only cash so they can scheme the government so they can be eligible for Medicaid and EBT Foodstamps while they hide the money. Not to mention the people who run this place don’t give you back the proper change from big bills. Many times they’ve tried ripping me off. Rather eat dirt off the floor
