Had dinner here with some friends during the holiday season on a week day. Not much in the way of decorations, slightly festive. The menu is quite large and features a special of choice of several entrees plus appetizer for $37. The appetizers were large enough to share. The food and service were good. Large wine list on the pricey side. Parking is on the street.

We’ve eaten at La Sorrentina three times in as many weeks since indoor dining has Re-opened in NYC. Each meal has been excellent as well has been the service. Expect a friendly visit at your table from Joseph, one of the owners. Outdoor dining on a nice day is also an option and has a cozy Italian street festival like feel to it. La Sorrentina took over the old Plum Tomatoes about a year ago. The family run restaurant opened in Rockaway after years of success in Dyker Heights, Brooklyn. Until recently we had only ordered take out from them (mostly pizza) which is also very good. The Grandma Pie is excellent. But their menu offers much more then just pizza. If you haven’t already, check them out! You won’t be disappointed.
