We love uzbek food and were regularly going to Taste of Samarkand until they closed. From the start it wasn’t very nice treatment, it might of just been our server, we ended up not ordering, not that we got an opportunity to. We were the first in the restaurant for dinner at 5pm but they avoided us and took orders from other customers that were walking in. Not sure if it was because of our ethnicity but we didn’t feel welcomed, really bummed about it, trying to find another Uzbek restaurant in the area.
Food was amazing. Good food, big portions, very reasonable, freshly made. Wonderful service
First time trying uzbekistan food and was melted away.. the lamb & beef grill have savoury saly taste that are unforgettable. Yumm
We had dinner at this restaurant today. The interior of the hall is simple. A huge chandelier enlivens the interior. The servers are modest and polite, it was very comfortable to communicate with them, they answered all our questions and gave recommendations. We tried plov, Marakand spec.wrap, chicken and beef kebabs, home made compot and Uzbek flatbreads. The food was served 15 minutes after ordering, very quickly. The prices are average. The atmosphere is calm, pleasant music was playing, I recommend!
Everything tasted fantastic. The filet kebabs were cooked perfectly. Service was also good. Highly recommend!

Delicious kabobs with perfectly grilled meat and flavorful sides. The service was quick, and the prices were fair. A must-try for kabob lovers!

Food here is great, authentic and always great. Service is mediocre at best. The servers don't speak English and if you are non-Uzbek the treatment you get is subpar. It is customary for serves to periodically check on the table to make sure everything is good and if there's anything else needed. But here the servers only initially take your order and beyond that you will have to put a great effort to get their attention. Overall a good restaurant but they can definitely improve their service and customer experience.

Absolutely unbelievable food. Having been to the region, I can say it is authentic. It's also 100% the best I ever had in the States, and maybe even in Central Asia itself. The marinade on their kebab is amazing, everything perfectly balanced, flavorful, succulent. Meat was tender and moist. We were a table of 5 adults and 2 kids so we tried almost everything on the menu. Every single item was a hit, no misses. The dessert also tastes completely fresh, not store bought.
I love the decor and ambiance. There is plenty of space to sit and walk by, some music playing, and gorgeous decoration/interior styling.
The people working are so nice and kind. When I got the bill, I was HAPPY to pay such a quality place. Please never change.
I 100% would come back and recommend others to. If you like Uzbek or Central Asian cuisine, this will be perfect for you. If you are from the area, you won't be disappointed. If you're looking to try something new, this will leave a great impression.
Parking: Metered street parking very close by
Kid-friendliness: High chairs available and lots of space to roll/put your stroller.

This Uzbek restaurant is a true gem! The food was absolutely delicious — the plov was perfectly cooked and flavorful, the ground beef skewers were tender and juicy, and the Napoleon skewers were simply to die for. The service was impeccable; the staff was attentive, friendly, and gave excellent recommendations. On top of all that, the prices were very reasonable, making it an outstanding value. Definitely the best Uzbek spot I’ve tried in NYC so far. Highly recommend!

Delicious Uzbek Food at Marakand!
Marakand in Queens is a must-visit for authentic Uzbek cuisine. The plov was perfectly cooked, rich in flavor, and the samsa was fresh and flaky. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service made the experience even better. Highly recommend!
