Posting an updated review. Come here often to Max Bakery for it is a family favorite. Reasons why? -it's near the train station. Grab your bun and go up the stairs to the 90th Street train station to take the 7 train. -Reasonable prices.-Fish sandwich are currently $3 bucks. Size has not changed like some of other shops.-Lots of buns have gone down in price. Now $1.25As you walk in door. You are greeted by friendly staff. There is an area that you can sit and eat after purchase. Will be back here again for sure.

This place rules. Really cheap, affordable baked goods--between $1.50-$2 for the most part, and after 5pm most of the baked goods are $1. They're all cute and individually wrapped. And then really cheap coffee, and bubble tea with boba, too--I think between $2-3, with your fun standard flavors like mango, taro, etc. Also chicken sandwiches and fish sandwiches for $3, which is wild.

I wish I had known about this bakery earlier! Best prices on Asian breads I've seen anywhere in NYC, you can get something to fill you up for under $3. I had the fish sandwich, and it was far larger than any fast food fish sandwich. It was a little soggy but that was probably because I went around 4pm. I will be back to try their breads in the early morning. I have been going to elmhurst/broadway for these types of bakeries but this one is far closer to where I live. I believe it is cash only.

Whoever is in charge and continues to allow for people to get drunk and high in and outside of your location needs to get fired.

Best place for coffee, cakes, croissants, sandwiches too

Neighborhood standby for coffee, tea, Chinese style breads and inexpensive sandwiches (3 kinds - ham & egg ?, fried chicken or fish; around $2/3) on brioche-like rolls. The popular "3 choices + soup" buffet lunch seems to have been suspended indefinitely due to covid. Unfailingly friendly and polite service

The Bakery section is the main draw for me. Basic buns like hot dog and coconut and cream are $1, and buns with meat like a hefty chicken patty and ham and egg are $2, and imo they are better than some of these other bakeries around the area. I wish they had corn, ham, and mayo buns. They used to have a hot food section here, but it seems to have vanished some years ago.
