Stay away from this place, went there twice, and both time got stale food and very pricey. I don't mind paying for good food but not stale food. You guys need to do better. I do not recommend this place at all

I've visited this restaurant briefly several times over the past year, having ordered roti 2-3 times to go. I once went there for breakfast, and it felt a bit pricey. A few parents from my daughter's dance school mentioned that the food was average and overpriced, suggesting I try D Roti Hut, which is just a few blocks away. Since then, I've primarily been going to D Roti Hut when in the area.

The atmosphere of the restaurant features awkward table arrangements and outdated decor, giving it a traditional vibe. The staff is usually decent, although I noticed that there were times when teenagers worked there who were unfamiliar with some menu items.

However, my recent visit was quite disappointing. I decided to try their katahar curry for Diwali because my pandit recommended it, as I had never had it before. I called ahead to ask about preordering, but the response I received from the man on the phone was rude; he said I couldn't preorder. When I asked if I should just come in, he responded, You come and wait in a long line, with a discouraging tone. When I arrived to find no line at all, I requested katahar and mango curry to go, but the staff member, identified later as Naresh, refused several times, insisting I order the full seven curry set instead. I was confused, as most restaurants allow for individual dish orders.

Fortunately, a nice auntie intervened and helped me by providing extra portions of the mango and katahar curry. However, the overall service felt unwelcoming, and Naresh's attitude was off-putting.

When I was finally rung up, I was shocked to find that the seven curry set cost $26 for what amounted to just a small sample of each curry in a small black disposable container. I also asked for roti instead of rice, which added to the price. I completely agree with other reviewers who have mentioned how pricey the vegetarian options are.

The biggest letdown came when I served the curry at home for our Diwali dinner. As noted by other reviewers, the katahar curry was spoiled!!!

The combination of poor service, high prices, and food quality was annoying. I would have loved to discuss my experience with the owner; however, when faced with such a rude attitude, I prefer to be in peace — especially on Diwali. It’s clear now why so many people recommended I go to D Roti Hut instead.

Okay so let me just be very clear this is the first time visiting this place and I will not go back so I have been eating Guyanese food and a few different Indian cuisine food so when I went inside I wanted to try a chicken. Pattie and when they gave it to me it was cold REALLY!!!! So I started to talk to the guy about it and he said oh we can warn it up for you and I’m like that’s not the point why is it cold I wasn’t gonna continue to engage him about his behavior trying to justify why the food is cold I don’t think anyone would want anything cold after purchasing it so I’ll never go back there

Came here for the first time because I saw it on social media, the treats were a 5/5 great!!! The customer service was okay and attentive. I decided to try the 7 curry but unfortunately by the time I got home it spoiled and smelled really bad, it’s unfortunate that I spent over $80 here and I had to trash the food. They gave you quarter spoon of each curry which was very cheap of them, people pay a lot so serve them a proper spoon full.

Naresh was more than accompanied to meet our needs to cater to a crowd. We received nothing but compliments on how delicious everything was, the vegetable fried rice was a hit so was the pumpkin, channa and aloo etc...I can keep going but I don't think you can go wrong with anything you decide to get. It's definitely a place we'll be coming back to time after time

Great food, great prices. First time here and the food I ordered was cooked well and was delicious.

I got the dhal, rice and duck curry. Perfect amount of spice for the food.

I got the homemade plantain chips. I had to put them away so I can stop eating them. They were perfectly made.

I got some homemade peanut punch, I was stuffed after the food and chips, will be trying later today.

Price was great as well for what I got!

I Honestly wish I can say I like this restaurant but I Don’t….. First of all the costumer service, wasn’t good at all. I went with my family to get food and we went there because it says 4.6 stars… like where is the stars really pointing to I wish I can put zero stars but unfortunately I can’t. The food was horrible like it had no taste to it all. By The Way I had got two 7 curry aluminum containers (the guy said square box but whatever) ROTI was hard.. and got two containers of mitah one for my mother in law one for my husband, and two of the pastries. It wasn’t for me the potato choka taste like it was spoil. The guys was rude like you can tell he had an attitude. LET ME MAKE THIS CLEAR IF IMMA PAY FOR SOMETHING AND THE MONEY COMING OUT OF MY POCKET i WANT MY DAM RECEIPT. WHO Gives you the rights to tell me I can’t get it only if I’m paying card. That guy was so lucky today is a religious day and I didn’t feel like fighting with anybody. Attention Don’t WASTE YOUR MONEY AND GO THERE…. Wasn’t For Me At All.

First off ima say don’t go to this place if you have on jewelry because apparently 2 orders of 7 curry ($20) per container 3 oil roti and a 2 container pastries pre-packed and 2 Mithai pre packed had me paying $113 dollars I never once went to a Guyanese spot and spent that much for the things I just mentioned. It was Krishna’s birthday and I literally felt I had gotten robbed when I asked for a receipt the cashier told me in order to get a receipt you have to pay the tax? Like what that have to do with me getting a receipt for the amount I had just paid? Then while packing the food he put a pepper in the food but my mom said she didn’t want it the guy said once it put in it can’t tek out back idk if he gay or something by saying that cause if I say I don’t want something you take it back out where’s the customer service? First time going here never returning and food wasn’t the best and the cashier is lucky it was a religious holiday and I kept my cool.

I can’t say enough about the incredible service and quality of food we received from Naresh’s Essiquibo Cusine. During a very difficult time for our family, following the loss of a loved one, they stepped in with minimal notice and provided catering for our family gathering. Not only was the food delicious and beautifully presented, but the team was also exceptionally understanding and compassionate. They handled everything with such care, making a challenging time a little bit easier for us. I highly recommend Naresh’s Essiquibo Cusine, for their professionalism, kindness, and outstanding culinary skills. Thank you for going above and beyond for our family.

I really wanted to like this place. The staff were super friendly and polite. I ordered the fried rice w/ jerk chicken and although the rice was seasoned well, it was hours away from spoiling. I could tell by the subtle sour smell coming from the food. Like it was literally on the cusp of being good and spoiled. Perhaps business is slow and the food is spoiling, but after paying $12 I was disappointed that I had to throw the entire food away. I managed to salvage some pieces of jerk chicken, but the chicken was sooo salty. I literally had to eat the inside part of the chicken that hadn’t been marinated in jerk sauce to avoid the salt levels. Considering the staff were so friendly, I was really disappointed by the quality of food.
