It's a very good slice. That old oven is seasoned from 70 years of use and you can taste it. If you ask for a topping they don't cheap out on it.. Most notably the mushrooms... Loaded. The guys are very cordial behind the counter and know they are making something special but don't charge through the roof.... Please don't get any ideas, ownership. I'd highly recommend as one of those places that used be "if you know, you know". Well.. Now you...
If I could insert a picture of Homer Simpson drooling I would. This is -hands down- the B E S T pizza ever. Oil dripping down your arm and chin, cheese oozing, crust thin and perfectly baked, meat sliding toward your elbow like a barebottom sledder on a hill of ice. I plan my flights around a stop here. So close to JFK and such a good start or end to a journey. Reviewed by a New Yorker who used to work at an authentic pizza shop to pay for college.
This is the perfect NY stop for your JFK layover. It is cash only so come prepared, there is a bank next door so don’t let your lack of cash stop you. If you are looking for NY quality pizza and you only have a limited range from the airport, this classic NYC stop is well worth the adventure.
