After local shopping in the area we loved the idea of returning to Taiwanese Gourmet on Broadway but I was craving dim sum. So, this restaurant was recommended by a friend of my girlfriend. For two we ordered six dim sum dishes, and from the menu a spicy clam dish with fried shallots and ground pork. I’ve been coming to this restaurant since I was a kid. They closed for renovations for a little while. So glad they’re back in business. It could be a hit or miss sometimes but most of the time their dishes hit the spot and a lot of their fried dishes are cooked well. The Peking duck buns were mostly skin this time around, a little lacking in the meat department. The mayo shrimp was perfectly executed. Overall a solid restaurant, good for big parties.

This Cantonese Dim Sum restaurant is a rare find in the Elmhurst area, with a comfortable ambiance and average food quality. However, I think it lacks a unique appeal, which might be why there are so few Cantonese Dim Sum spots in Elmhurst—most feel the same. Friends and locals often prefer heading to Flushing for its wider variety and richer selection of standout dishes.
