Came in on Saturday for lunch. The service was quick and food also came really quickly. I usually order delivery from Ooi so was pleasantly surprised by the size of the bento set. It was also great that they offer their lunch special on weekends. Will definitely be back!

Used to order from here, but not sure if there were some changes on the management or what recently. Placed an order online in advance for pick up, when came to the store, was told that the order did not go through. The front desk not solving the problem immediately but had a very bad attitude, ended up with another long wait. One of the rolls did not match the description.

I am very confused by the positive reviews that Ooi Sushi has received and wonder how I could've had the opposite experience. It was evident from the moment that my husband and I entered the restaurant that it may be a questionable experience, as there were very few people dining at 7ish on a Friday night. The ambiance is modern and attractive, with paintings and murals on the walls and some interesting fixtures. We were seated quickly, but it took a while for a server to come over to us. When she finally started to approach but was still at least six feet away, she said, "You know what you want?" No hello, no drinks, no specials, etc. (I should also note that this server told us the Yelp check-in discount had expired, even though it was displayed on the business's page. She did agree to honor it after talking to the manager.) We ordered drinks and then a different server came over to take our food order. This second server seemed less intense and proved to be more friendly and attentive. We ordered several rolls, an order of crispy rice with spicy tuna, and a couple of pieces of sashimi/nigiri. I have to admit that I am generally suspicious of sushi places that have a dominant presence of "spicy"'or minced fish that's mixed with a sauce as well as rolls that are heavily doused in eel sauce or kewpie. Their specialty rolls fit this bill. Overall, I was disappointed by quality of the fish, which didn't taste that fresh. The rice was also cold, too hard, and not properly seasoned. We couldn't finish the rolls even though we were hungry. Additionally, the sashimi and nigiri pieces were very small for the price. If I had to pick one dish that was decent, it was the crispy rice with spicy tuna. The textural contrast was good, and I liked the fresh jalapeños on top. Overall, this place may do well in LIC because of its ambiance and bar, but I don't think I will be returning.

Had a great time at Ooi Sushi and Bar. They currently offer great happy hour specials. The ambiance is very nice. The service is good! The waitstaff is very polite and attentive. Delicious and fresh sushi! Highly recommend if you're in LIC!
