Went for brunch on a Sunday, the food, drinks and staff were great. Atmosphere could've been less loud and the music could've been better for brunch. I would visit again.

Our server’s sour face ruined the night. I came here being excited about the night out but it was spoiled, unfortunately. I work in a hospitality industry as well and I never let penetrate whatever sad and bored emotions I am experiencing. Food was good. Server, it’s you job, literally. Nothing personal. Thanks.

Ordered a skirt steak medium rare and came blue during brunch yesterday. The eggs came slightly white runny when asked for over medium. The only reason this doesn't get 1 star is because the waiter was great. Very nice man and very attentive. Too bad because this restaurant had a great vibe and has won many zagat awards.. just an off day I guess..

Exquisitely prepared food and professional service for a very reasonable price.Parking: Good luck finding anywhere close to park; you're better off taking some other form of transit.

I had randomly tried this out last Sunday and I was SO GOOD. Even for a Sunday we were sat really quickly which was awesome. I had a black truffle burger and it was done perfectly. I always get a burger at a new restaurant because that often shows if the rest of the menu will taste well and this one was off the charts! Normally people overdo the truffle but this was the perfect amount where it still had other flavors that you could taste! The restaurant is really nicely done and feels upscale without crazy prices and you should go get brunch here. It’s definitely one of the better ones in Astoria!

Not to sound overly sentimental, but I just tried the Smokey Orange Angel and was immediately transported to raking and burning leaves as a child in the Midwest and having mulled apple cider after.Honestly, it’s one of the strangest sensory experiences I’ve had in a long time.???

Sanford has been in Astoria for over 30 years, it went from neighborhood diner to a fusion fine dining and drinking restaurant. We love their brunch deal!

Visited from TN for the outstanding and surprising liquor selection.. spent several hours at the bar on a not too busy Wednesday afternoon. David the bar tender was outstanding in conversation and service. Lobster ravioli did not disappoint. Great atmosphere, great music, would gladly come back next time. The history here is great also.. family owned for 100 years. 5 stars

I am growing tired of trying to support Astoria restaurants, rather than going somewhere in the city, and being consistently disappointed with the quality of food and service. Ordered squash ravioli, fish tacos, burger, and lobster mac. Lobster Mac was decent, burger was alright, tacos were flavorless, and ravioli was over cooked. I will never come back here, because there is no reason to. Sure, the prices are perhaps 20% cheaper than an equivalent place in the city. But when the food quality is not there, who cares about price. Service wasn’t great either. Had to ask for a straw multiple times, food took 20 minutes, on a slow Wednesday night. No excuse.

We visited this place with a good friend on a Friday night. It was busy so the hostess asked us to wait for a couple of minutes so she could accommodate us. We ended up sitting in one of the couches on the right side as you enter the restaurant. Great choice. We handed over the menu right away. We chose a calamari plate as a starter and 2 main plates, chicken for my friend and pasta with meatballs for me. We also did a few drinks. The service was exceptional. Very attentive. My pasta was overcooked. It wasn’t al dente at all and I am a pasta lover. Meatballs were good. This is the only reason I’m giving 4 stars. Good place, good vibe overall. Good job guys :)
