Japanese food made from scratch very economic and convenient 🍲🍜🥢

Having a craving for Japanese cuisine, I stopped by Sarku Japan, hoping for a solid, budget-friendly meal. The food quality was decent for the price point, but there wasn’t anything particularly special to note. Unfortunately, the service was slow, especially during peak hours, which impacted the overall experience. Sarku Japan offers decent food at a fair price, but be prepared to wait if you visit during busy times. Worth a visit if you’re nearby and not in a hurry.

This place gave me a lot of hopes reading the reviews. Upon arriving I noticed this isn’t the best part of town. Staff here aren’t clean whatsoever, floors are dirty and they are very slick. Asked if they could please put fresh chicken on the grill not the one that was on the side stale. Proceeded to give me stale chicken thinking I wouldn’t see it. Just be careful with the food and the staff.

I decided to try out their Chicken and Shrimp Teriyaki. It came up to about $11.75 after tax. There was a good amount of food although part was a lot of white rice. The chicken and vegetables tasted great. I didn't care much for the rice though and the shrimp could be better.

I would eat here again but there is a family owned spot like half a block down in the food court of the Jamaica Market called New Sarkura Japan. They are a family owned teriyaki place that has been there for years. Their chicken is similar but their rice and shrimp are more to my liking and they are slightly cheaper for a similar amount of food. I would try both and see which you prefer.

Parking: On some blocks is paid parking meters and others I don't recall seeing any. Here by the Sarku Restaurant is bus stops and that alone makes it difficult. But I do see cars parked. Never noticed any parking meter tickers in cars. I walk mostly and never drive in the area.

So I ordered the chicken teriyaki with fried rice and on god that was the worst food I’ve ever had in my entire life. The fried rice was not even mixed properly the rice was chunky white rice inside and full of disgusting tasting soy sauce outside also the chicken was so salty almost bitter I would never in my life order food from here ever again!

This is for the Knoxville, TN store, wouldn’t recommend going there in the last 30 minutes, because they close early, even tho they are there cooking food and laughing and having a good old time, you walk up to order and they’ll tell you there closed, maybe don’t advertise that you’re open till 6(Sunday) if you’re only open till 5:30. Maybe close the store. Highly disappointed in the customer service.
