Definitely a bit misleading. There are really no views of manhattan except occasionally catching one through the trees. The food is okay. Service is good. Would be better if you knew what you got.
Cooper (our waiter) was such a joy! He definitely helped to add to the enjoyment of my night! My birthday dinner was superb.
Great experience at Shi LIC. Very large menu with lots of options - Standouts for me were the Agedashi tofu appetizer, the sashimi platter (the salmon was absolutely delicious), seared salmon sashimi, and the molten chocolate cake. Paired with some junmai daiginjo sake, absolutely perfect. Definitely recommend.
Nice restaurant and good food. The staff are polite and very attentive to their guest.
I went to SHI with a party of six to celebrate my friend’s birthday, and unfortunately, the experience was truly disappointing.
From the start, the service felt intrusive. The waitstaff hovered uncomfortably close and kept reaching in to grab even the smallest things from our table, making it hard to relax and enjoy the moment.
The food was another letdown—bland, overpriced, and far from what you’d expect at a restaurant of this caliber. Not a single dish stood out in a good way.
Overall, it was not the celebration we hoped for. I won’t be returning.
We were staying in manhattan and decided to venture to this highly rated place due partially for the food reviews but mostly for the view. If that’s what you are doing, stop right here. There is zero view of the skyline from here. Also, sushi, not the best but the Chinese food was amazing.
I go here very often. The food is good and the service is always quick.
Always amazing sushi at Shi and great to have Ben as our waitress. The Medusa roll is the best!
Absolutely recommend this place for dates or groups. Excellent food and tasty sake.
Great experience with the food and general service. Did not appreciate being given drink samples and clothing items by brand promoters while sitting and speaking with friends.

The ambience was comforting. So much variety on the menu to choose it took a while to decide but the choices were great. Seasoning was a definite plus. The staff was very welcoming. Would definitely go again.
Always have a great dining experience i have with you guys, that's why i travel from the Bronx to come back lol
The food was excellent. It's a beautiful restaurant with great views of Manhattan. The only thing is we felt a little rushed. I was served my meal as I was finishing eating my appetizer. It would've been nice if there was a gap between being served my appetizer and entree
This was a last minute reservation after my first reservation change the time due to an event they were having at their restaurant. Glad it worked out and the food was good.
Shi is a fantastic Japanese Pan-Asian restaurant with breathtaking views of Manhattan. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a stylish ambiance that perfectly complements the stunning skyline. The food was absolutely delicious—every dish was fresh and well-prepared. The sushi and sashimi were incredibly fresh, with vibrant flavors that showcased the quality of the ingredients. Cooper provided excellent service, offering great suggestions and crafting smooth, well-balanced drinks that elevated the dining experience. Queens is home to incredible cultural diversity and fantastic neighborhoods, and Shi is a perfect example of that. Whether you're looking for a romantic night out or a place to unwind with friends, this spot delivers on all fronts—great food, top-notch service, and a view that makes the experience even more memorable. Highly recommend!
