The chicken sandwich was not good at all. It really looked and tasted like it was just a deep fried piece of skin. The brisket was good. Too bad that was not my order, someone else ordered it and had me try it.

I love Smoke & Barrel! I traveled to Rockaway for the St. Patty's festivities and had to stop by S&B! I had some amazing corn beef sliders and potato salad that had a great dill flavoring.

Loved this place when it first opened but as we continue going I’m to the point where I know I won’t eat again. The food has changed, prices changed and overall I leave feeling like I spent too much. My biggest disappointment was they changed the banana pie and it was awful. Spent $7 on a tiny pie to trash it.

Just moved here and this is the second time I’ve been here for a burger in 2 weeks… and that’s me holding back? burger meat was fresh as h*ll, and the taste and texture was stupendous. Jennifer was my server and she held it down!!!! With excellent and prompt service, as well as some good convo… ours was about animal rescues ;) couldn’t have had a better lunch. Super wholesome experience.

I discovered Smoke & Barrel summer of 2023, 8 weeks after it opened. The food is amazing -- the best barbecue in Queens! The people are really what makes the different. I met the owner and his wife: they are so warm, welcoming, and really devoted to making this restaurant a go-to spot in the Rockaways. I went again a few weeks ago and they have brought in pool tables, live music and more to make the restaurant a real neighborhood institution.I also got to meet and spend time with pit master Allie and chef Mike. They are so sweet and clearly committed to their craft -- the food reflects that. It's so good! I loved the pulled pork, ribs, corn bread. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, both Allie and Mike pour their heart into the food.S&B hosts tasting menu nights -- the first one in January 2024 blew me away. It was a 7 course whiskey tasting paired with small bites for an incredibly cheap price. It was hands down the best meal I have ever had. Allie crafted a beautiful, well considered menu, and put so much time and effort to build out an ambiance that only enhanced the meal. The highlights for me were the sausage (I usually hate sausage but I couldn't stop eating it), the best pork belly of my life, tea-smoked duck (!!!), and a tart yet sweet cherry dessert. I will definitely go to future tasting menu nights and bring friends with me, and anytime I'm in the Rockaways I make it a point to go to Smoke & Barrel.
It was new years eve. We were informed that one take out customer bought all tge brisket. How is this possible? We should have left then. There was a restaurant in nyc called RUB righteous urban bbq. Find tge owners and the smoke master and take some lessons! Batesys is even worse. Tiny portions alone on a tray with nothing else gir $ 20? Not a good idea. This is a working class neighborhood! Drinks were half full and came froma mix! Not made fresh. Possibly instead of the owner constantly apologizing and doing pr maybe a better staff trained properly. As a professional chef I will never visit this establishment again! Oh and desserts are pedestrian or non existent Zero ambiance
I had the opportunity to go to Smoke & Barrel's 1st Whiskey tasting and food pairing. What a great experience we had.The andouil sausage {homemade} platter was absolutely fantastic. They also had a terrific duck dish. They served us enough food for twice the people we came with. And the price was well worth it. Not to mention the very creative whiskey pairing. We highly recommend the entire menu as well. Bon appetite.

Hosted a cocktail party for 30 ppl and the restaurant did a fabulous job! Had my own personalized menu for food & drinks. Mike the BBQ master was instrumental in the creation of my menu. My guests were blown away by the quality of the food! Susan & Brian the proprietors were so accommodating and truly made my party special. My friends are still talking about the ribs and wings.

Literally everything about this place is just amazing, and it's super local, which makes it even more amazing! The vibes are fab, the service is super, but the FOOD... The food is mouth watering, delicious, and every time I'm done eating I know I'm coming back for more. Not to mention how yummy the drinks are... they even have a very nice selection of whiskey (which makes my husband really happy). This place has quickly become one of my families favorite restaurants! Also.. they hosted my husbands 34th birthday and THEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! HUGE thank you to the whole team for making the experience so special for my husband! 10/10!
