Always a completely magical experience, with great food, gracious and swift service, and often live Cuban music transforming Manhattan into a tropical oasis!
I had a great experience going there to eat I had never been there before and always wanted to try it so why not go when it's restaurants week and the prices are affordable for my pocket I ordered the espresso martini and a side of plantains so my bill was a little higher but all worth it loved the dessert only complaint I have is for my appetizer I would have liked my chicharron de pollos to be more cooked overall it was a good time
Good food. Meat dishes, empanadas and calamares were very good. Fish less so. Very friendly service. Unfortunately, we had to wait about 20 minutes past the time we had reserved, which wasn't ideal. However, still worth a visit.
Very disappointing experience. A staple was found in the steak, which is a serious food safety issue. The staff offered dessert to make up for it, but then our bill was incorrect, creating another problem before we could even leave. Between the unsafe food and billing errors, the situation was handled poorly. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Always a great experience at Havana Central! The service, food and drinks are always top-tier! Never disappoints!
We chose this restaurant out of the blue after a long day traveling and walking around downtown. This was a great restaurant... fresh, delicious food, great service and atmosphere. I highly recommend Havana Central Times Square for a casual dining experience for couples and families!
The service and food was good. Drinks were tasty. It was a bit noisy but could still have a conversation. Henrique was our server he was great.
Having a reservation make seating easier. The service was great. The food and drinks were delicious, especially the cranberry sangria! Inviting and authentic ambience.
Food very good, service fast, prices reasonable especially given the theater district location
An OK place to eat in midtown. The cuisine isn't very imaginative. Some things were good. The empanadas were good. The grilled chicken was underdone and translucent. My wife felt a bit queasy for the rest of the evening and she only ate a couple. The black beans were great. My Cuban sandwich was dry and i only ate half. The servers were very attentive

We were stuck in traffic, and I changed my reservation from 5:15 to the next available at 6:15. I knew we would be cutting it close for our 7:30 show time, but I knew we would never make 5:15. We arrived at the restaurant at 5:45, and I asked if we could be seated early. We were told no. OK, went to the bar for a drink. At 6:10, I went back, and we were brought to a table. My husband commented that he had noticed that table, and that it had been empty the entire time we were at the bar. We wound up having to rush through our meal and skip dessert (we had ordered the price fixe menu). I know that busy restaurants have to have policies in place, but we really would've appreciated the courtesy since there clearly was an available table.
Reservation was at 6:15, table ready and sat at 6:22. Did not have a waitress come to our table until 6:54. We ordered food along with our check because we had a show to see. We were ensured we would be able to make it in time for our show. 7:26 our food was still not out, mind you we had only ordered appetizers. Three other tables surrounding us had also got up and left as well.
The service was slow and inconsistent but the quality of the food was good but a bit over priced in my opinion.
The food was really good! Everything else - meh. Despite me making a reservation and confirming it prior to arriving there we still had to wait for the table to be prepared. Because of this delay, we had limited time, and I asked our server to expedite our order, which did not happen. The band was way too loud, even though we were sitting in the opposite corner of the dining hall we could still hardly hear each other. Maybe on a less busy night (we were there on a Sunday) these issues would not happen. But then again, how a place handles customers on a busy night really tells the story.
Just a 5-minute walk from Times Square, this Cuban restaurant is a gem. I've dined here twice now, most recently in 2023, and the food is simply spectacular. I had the pernil with white rice, black beans, and a side of sweet plantains, all of which were absolutely delicious. I also want to highlight the wonderful service and kindness of our waiter, Jaime. The atmosphere is cozy, and once again, the food, drinks, and service are excellent.
