Great food, no questionâbut there are some consistency issues. Theyâre often out of whiting fish, and not everyone eats catfish or other meats. The hours arenât always reliable; if you say you open at 12, you should be open at 12 and not have people drive over to find the gate closed and be told to come back in 2 hours. Thatâs frustrating, especially for those coming from far away.
If the business is also handling catering and doesnât have the manpower or space for walk-in service at the same time, it might make sense to dedicate specific days strictly for catering and update the public hours accordingly.
It would also help to consider joining delivery services like Uber Eats or Grubhub. That would cut down on unnecessary trips and phone calls, especially since there seems to only be one phone line that can be busy at times.
Revamping the front of the store to reflect the excellence of the food might help (and possibly expand into a bigger space since itâs so tight in there; youâve gotta be in and out to make room for others to order, but you must also go in person since thereâs no other way to order at the moment).
Amazing food, but definitely room for improvement. Hope management takes this into consideration for the sake of those wanting to support our own businesses in the community but also believe this should not be at the expense of quality, consistent service.

First off the food is amazing here but not worth what you have to do to get it. Iâve come here multiple times and either have a long wait time or they arenât open and prepared. Sometimes they donât answer the phone to let you know what they have for that day considering their menu differs on different days. It says on the site that they open at 12 on sundays I called around 1:30pm and they said that they werenât open yet and would open in 30 mins. 50 mins later I am calling back and they wonât pick up the phone. They should really work harder at making sure the store is open at the time it says and answering the phones since that is the only other way to order, or know the menu for the day without having to figure it out as you walk in the store.

I ordered over the phone for a catfish dinner and was told 15 got there a was told 17 I was confused and said on the phone someone said 15 I guess there was some type of confusion and I ended up paying the price when I leave the store she must of thought I left but I was standing out from and she started talking about me like a dog Iâm like damn. I was gonna confront her but Iâm like she ainât worth it any good owner or employee wouldnt do that. I simply walked away. Got home and didnât even have what I ordered it was fried shrimp smh still good. but I no longer have respect for this place. It was the heavy set lady who be at the front who did this. I was so hurt and disappointed cause I do like that place Yams trash

I checked this spot out with some of my friends and I LOVED IT ! We got the catfish, cabbage, mac and cheese and candied yams. When we got there lots of stuff were sold Out but we were looking forward to the candied yams however they ran out. When we came back to pick up our food they restocked on the candied yams and the girl at the front told us she got us and gave us a great portion of it because she knew we really wanted to try it. She let us try the cabbage which was actually really good. Usually I skip out on the cabbage at lot of soul food spots but itâs great here. Support this business! Super well deserved.

The mac and cheese is not worth the money the yams quality is like baby food and the price they charge isnt worth eating there. As far as service the young female doesn't pay attention at the register and the prices arent listed so know whats gojng on.This isnt a restaurant for dining in

This the spot! The food was great! The price was great! I had chicken wings, shrimp, mac n cheese and green beans. Everything was tasty! It definitely scratched my itch for some soul food! You have to try it!

Its takeout only. This restaurant has really good food. I dont take the time to write many reviews but I was impressed. Its a tiny shop that's puts out meals that remind you of home. I came 20 minutes to closing and I got fried wings, Mac n cheese and candied yams. I waited maybe 10-12 minutes. My food was hot including the sides. The wings was juicy and seasoned to the bone. The mac was cheesy just like your grandma makes at home and the yams was sticky and sweet. Flavor was not overpowering at all. The server even threw in a side of green beans which was tasty as well. The place is small but clean. The storefront does not scream come inside but believe me you will not be disappointed. Give these folks a try. I would have included photos but i sampled the food and didnt stand a chance.
