While researching places to visit, I noted a neighborly quality about the @souvlakilady in her interviews online. This observation proved to be more true than I anticipated.As I caught a glimpse of her cart parked alongside the road, my mouth began to water at the prospect of my first taste of streetside souvlaki. Unfortunately, my excitement quickly dwindled when I realized she only accepted cash as payment.While standing in utter defeat, I was sincerely touched when she decided to disregard my lack of cash and provide me a skewer at no cost. Let me tell you...it was sublime! Prior to that moment, I couldn't imagine a simple stick of pork could improve much beyond what I make at home, but I was wrong.So grateful for my first experience with Greek generosity and hospitality - ευχαριστώ, @souvlakilady!

The lady is a beautiful lady. I love her to death but I don't like the lady that's working for her. She denied that I gave her $20. I told her to look around and she says there is no 20 I said I put it right on the top there didn't fly around because I saw it. I was looking for it, so there is no way that it would fly. She just took the money and was charging me more and then I just walked away and I said I'm never going there again when they when she's there I have to make sure that the souvlaki lady is only the one working there or maybe the man but that other lady I don't truster and I'm sorry I have I'm not gonna be able to buy until she's gone

Really good and affordable food. With the pita, we can choose either pork or chicken for the protein. We go with pork, and the meat is well-seasoned and is not dry. The souvlaki sauce is very tasty. The structure makes it a little hard to eat. Definitely will come back to try other stuff on the menu whenever I'm in the area (probably won't happen any time soon lol).

I have been meaning to stop by to grab a gyro or platter for some time, as I love Mediterranean food.So much traffic in Astoria so I went today since it was raining and figured there would be less people and cars.So glad I did.I ordered a chicken gyro with double meat and fries, souvlaki lady sauce and chipotle mayo sauce on the side. I had mine to go.This is by far the best tasting chicken gyro I’ve ever had. The chicken had a char-grilled flavor I loved. The sauces were so good. I can’t wait to stop by again.

Delicious! I tried all 3 skewers and definitely my favorite was the pork. Very flavorful and juicy. Will b back for sure!

Solid meal but can leave you wanting more if you only get a souvlaki platter and don't double the meat. Souvlaki lady is always fast and she is always friendly. Whether you get it delivered to you or pick it up from the cart, you can never really go wrong with chicken, rice, and a flavorful sauce.
