Every once in a while you find a place that makes you feel like a kid again in the most beautiful way. This place is one of those places. Everything is perfect. The food, the vibes, the people. My only complaint is that I had to leave and go home afterwards. The most wonderful little cafe you will come across.

Amazing food, the freshest ingredients and the owner cares deeply about the food and her customers. Ask her what she recommends and you won't leave disappointed. Ill gladly walk out of my way to support a place like this.

Chicken and rice plate. Mediterranean tuna sandwich, Moroccan style. Spinach pie and lentil soup. We stumbled upon Sunshine by accident while exploring this corner of Astoria. The owner, Maria, is lovely, friendly and genuinely warm. Everything down to the bread and sauces is prepared on the premises. We loved it here and plan to return. Make it a destination when you’re visiting Astoria Park or Pool. We’re glad we did!

Perfect little spot of peace in a busy world. Nothing but nice things to say. Owner is SUPER sweet and patient. I just came from the airport looking for some food and had a delicious homemade bagel with lox. Yum. Highly recommend:

This café is truly one of Astoria’s best hidden gems. The owner, Maria, is the sweetest and most welcoming person you’ll meet, she’ll happily recommend something you’ll love, and her daily specials are a must-try.
I visited for her famous lentil soup, and it exceeded the hype — rich, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Maria makes everything herself, from the fresh breads for her sandwiches to the soups, and desserts. She serves organic teas, coffees, and smoothies. It’s as close to homemade as it gets without being in her own kitchen. Stop in and show her some love and make sure you ask her for recommendations. You will not be dissapointed.

This small local restaurant is a hidden gem. Maria, the owner and chef, puts her heart into every dish and welcomes you like family. Everything is fresh and delicious, but for me, nothing beats her orange juice—sweet, natural, and freshly squeezed, the best I’ve ever had! The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, perfect for taking a break from the day. Every visit leaves me wanting to come back. Without a doubt, my favorite spot in town. 💛🍊
