You hear things are bigger in Texas. Not in Tex’s, NY. “Family” sides are size of regular Popeyes tubs. Cole slaw was mush, seemed old. Corn was burnt with a torch and tasted smoky, not the good kind of smoke either, but like something burned in the oven next to it. Chicken was standard, but some pieces tasted like they were fried with fish or something. Just a weird after taste of the oil. Went out of my way to this one due to the higher reviews. Won’t be going back. Probably to any Tex while I’m here in NY.

I can’t even believe I’m saying this, but this place has the absolute best fried chicken I’ve had in ages.

For many years we were huge KFC fans. Then… slowly they started going downhill. The chicken became ultra soggy and “blah”. The sides are the sides and towards the end the coleslaw was the only good thing.

We then moved on to Popeyes. Loved it for a while then the same thing. Chicken didn’t hold up well getting it home and it is only about 5-10 minute ride to the house. The sides and choices were good but after a while it just wasn’t cutting it anymore.

Fast forward to last night. My husband has been saying “You guys HAVE to try this place!!!!” To me and my son. So that’s what we did. He came come with some Classic Chicken Sandwiches and an 8 piece of fried chicken with two sides and some biscuits. The chicken sandwiches were huge perfectly fried pieces of white meat chicken on a bun with Mayo and pickles. That’s it. It was amazing and juicy and tender. The fried chicken absolutely made the 15 minute ride home staying CRISPY with not one ounce of condensation. It was flavorful and juicy and just delicious. (Note: the sides were good). The biscuits were soft and delicious as well.

Also need to add that the staff was fantastic. Very friendly and personable. Excellent experience and happy new customer!!!!

Oh yeah and it’s just as flavorful and delicious at room temp or from fridge. I can’t wait to go back!!!!

Crispy and little oily.
Then why three stars?
Cause all staff is so lude and unkindly.
And also they prepare ready to eat chicken behind counter.
But Broomstick is used to sweep the floor without any covering.

He had the type of attitude that a Crew member should not have his customer. He was trying to act so cool and trying to insult us and told us to not come.

The fried chicken here is amazing! Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. The staff is friendly and the food comes out hot and fresh. Definitely one of the best chicken spots I’ve tried—highly recommend!
