I have been going through a Door restaurant for years and their food never disappoint me. I live in Brooklyn and I jump on the train and travel two hours just to get their food. It’s worth the train ride.

This restaurant did not live up to the hype for me. We were able to get reservations on short notice for a group of 16 and parking was available. Service was average since we barely saw our server. Some meals took longer than others to get. We loved the calamari, but the jerk chicken and stew snapper were a bit dry. The veggies were barely touched because the green beans and carrots were too hard. The music played was enjoyable though.

The food at The Door is as authentic as it gets. Everything I’ve tried here has been well-prepared and full of flavor. The takeout section offers great value for the quality of the food, with very reasonable prices.

However, the same meal is noticeably more expensive when ordered in the sit-down dining area. While the ambiance and service may justify the higher cost for some, it’s something to keep in mind if you're budget-conscious.
