I stopped in to the Flying Fox on a whim after looking for some spots to have dinner a couple friends and was blown away. The atmosphere inside is SUBERBLY horror/vampire themed in a way that feels a lot more authentic than some similar places. The drinks and food were delicious and I would recommend their brussel sprouts, burgers, and their fried fish sandwich. If you need a great place to hang and watch some old French b-horror movies, on’t miss this spot!

RUN, do not walk, to Flying Fox Tavern for their vegan stuffed French toast. The day I went, which was a few weeks ago, was Peaches and Cream. This was the best French toast I've ever had. It's basically this gorgeous block of the lightest fluffiest French toast. The size intimidated me at first but I had absolutely no trouble finishing it. I've never had French toast served this way but I can never go back to the regular kind. It's light, airy, and delicious. AND VEGAN. They have really great vegan options here. My fiancé, who is not vegan, had their breakfast sandwich which she really liked. Plus the service was so friendly - our server was super kind and made our experience so nice. We will definitely be back.

I can't say enough good things about this place. We've gone here for dinner (the food is amazing and there are tons of vegetarian / vegan options) and drinks (cocktails are all good and they have a good beer selection), we've brought our seven year old for brunch (coffin shaped grilled cheese sandwiches!), we've taken friends here for drinks, and we've gone later to watch horror movies and play "Blood Bingo" hosted by Unkle Spooky. Everything about this place is perfect. The staff are really nice too - it's got a very welcoming community feel to it.

Very nice vintage horror movie atmosphere. Nice large bar with nice table seating setup for groups. The food options are great. Love when a spot has actual vegan options of appetizers, main courses and even desserts, other than a salad. The staff are welcoming and helpful. My friends love coming for their mixed cocktails and I come for the food every time I'm in the area.

Vegetarian options: They have a few items all labeled as vegan.

Dietary restrictions: Vegan menu items.

Sweetest bartender, an amazing 5 dollar happy hour deal, and a cute tavern bar vibe, but truly the most mediocre flavorless burger I've ever had. And for 16 dollars.

It was tofu sandwich, it kinda tasted like plain tofu, a few pieces of plain cabbage, and a sauce that somehow tasted like nothing more than salt. I'm truly confused how little flavor was in it. Served with arugula with no dressing or sauce and some ( delicious) fresh potato chips.

(I believe my tab before credit card fee was 22, I left 26 assuming cc fee removed for cash, the bartender even asked me if I needed change so I assume I counted correct. If this is wrong or I made a mistake please include a venmo or otherwise so I can tip. It was never, and never has been my intention to not tip or undertip,
The service on all counts was nothing short of friendly and attentive)

Best burger I've had in NY, hands down. I've eaten one over a dozen times, and it's never been short of excellent. All their food is excellent, though. I don't drink so I can't comment on those, but I think it says enough that I'd go here for food any day. And they have brunch!

But seriously, this place is weird. And weirdos go here. Really weird weirdos.

A cool old horror movie bar to visit. I enjoyed the burger, but the house chips were extremely salty and tasted a little soggy when they came. The drinks were good.

I don’t often review, but after being here three times in two weeks and having exceptional food and service all three times i feel like I have to.The food is surprisingly good, by that I mean that items which read simple on the menu show up and exceed your expectations.Everything fried is done in tempura. Nothing is overly bready or heavy and everything is delightfully crispy.Highly recommend the fried fish sandwich which comes with a side of homemade chips and arugula. The fried artichokes were so good you want to slap your mom.Had mine with the vegan cashew dipping sauce. Also, if you are not vegan the Shepards pie was delicious. The staff is kooky, welcoming, and attentive in a way that immediately makes you feel at home. 10/10 highly recommend.
