I had two of seafood boils with garlic sauce last weekend. I happened to go there because I was once told that it was a pretty good place. Was it a good place to me and my friends? Certainly not.I am a big local business supporter. However, it was not acceptable. 1. Taste: I know it’s personal. Everyone has their own preference. But their butter garlic sauce was a bit too plain to me and all the guests I had. I had to add some salt and garlic myself. So, I gave 3 stars. 2. Portion: Yes. It’s sea food boils. The ingredients are expensive. But compared to other restaurants, it’s quite small. I get more potatoes and corns for similar price from other places. 2 Starts. 3. Quality: God dang! Potatoes were RAW. What more do I have to talk about? Hands down 1 star.Overall, I do not think I would ever going to try this place again even though I see many positive reviews. It might be just that day. But I don’t think it’s worth give it a try for the price.

I really wanted to like this place but there were just a lot of misses which is really unfortunate since the people here are really great. The Shack NYC offers a large selection of seafood boils as well as southern inspired cuisine and we came with some friends who hear good things. The day we went, it must have been bad luck since the restaurant had no mussels and maybe calamari. We got a few appetizers (tots, garlic bread and some others) and there were all just OK. The garlic bread actually came out burnt and black but they were good enough to replace it with a new order. Our boils were pretty good in terms of flavor (the shack sauce was great) but the shrimp was overcooked while the potatoes were undercooked. The kitchen was also overwhelmed as the wife's tacos came out after all our boils came out (which also only came out one at a time) and long after other guests food who had actually come in 20 minutes after we'd started eating. Overall the food is decent but not great and the service was uneven (not due to the staff but the kitchen). Prices are standard for seafood boil places but it's hard for me to really get excited about coming back here when there are a lot of other similar places that offer the same stuff without the kitchen issues. Maybe we'll go back, but for now, it was a bit disappointing.

Server was super nice, food was great, we got there as it opened so our party were only ones there and got food made quickly. My only concern is the food safety rating via yelp? Can someone confirm what the place got rating wise? Whenever it gets an A we will def be going back

We were cat sitting in the neighborhood and happened to notice this place a few blocks from the apartment. Looking at the Yelp reviews convinced us to give it a try. The concept of a seafood and southern comfort food rewstaurant brought to us by Koreans seemed imaginative, but they have pulled it off wonderfully. We had been attracted by their special of $1 oysters on weekends, but the catch was that you had to buy a dozen. Love oysters, but not quite that much. I moved on to the appetizers. The bisquits and gravy looked like a deal, although we were told to expect a delay, since they make them from scratch. No problem - we'll just have them after the entree. Spoiler - they were worth the wait. I ended up getting the lobster mac and cheese, which was absolutely extraordinary. An entire lobster tail was laid out across the top of the noodles, along with two large claws. My wife had the popcorn shrimp, which was well priced and more than generous. By 8 the restaurant was full, but it had a good, quiet buzz, with a good mix of cultures. The servers made us feel very much at home. Only disappointment was that I wanted to try the key lime pie, but will have to put that off to the next trip, when I plan for a dozen oysters. This is a wonderful addition to the neighborhood.

I love this place. It's tiny and cute just like a shack. Service is really good here. We had the bang bang shrimp 10/10 . Definitely a must try here. The fish tacos are also super huge and filling. Highly recommend this place. There's also a fee when paying with card. Bring cash !!

This is a hidden gem in Bayside. Their food is amazing and the decor is very soothing and vibrant. They even have a small nook for kids to entertain themselves with! All the staff were great and down to earth people. I ordered the snow crab boil combo, bang bang shrimp, and oysters. Everything was fresh and brought to us very quickly. If you have not tried this place I urge you to give it a shot! 10/10 from me and I will definitely be going back again!

We were really looking forward to trying this place. We ordered online and came in to pick up. App said food was ready at 5pm, it wasn't ready until 5:20pm. Not a big deal. We ordered: - fried calamari - too chewy, soggy - fried pickles - pickles were cut too thin so there is no crunch, which made the batter too thick, soggy - I think a thicker cut would help the flavor come through. - fish taco with fries - good portion fish, but the fries were soggy - shrimp taco with fries - pretty good, Fries were also soggy. **the remoulade was absolutely DELISH! Improvement needs to be made for take out customers. All the fried food needs to stay crispy somehow - maybe punch holes in the lid? We might come back to try the oysters .

My family and friends love coming here for a lot of reasons. First of all, everything on the menu that we have tried so far is delicious. You can't beat their $1.00 oysters; they are so fresh and clean that I can probably eat a dozen or more by myself. The staff here is very friendly, James the head cook likes to talk to his customers when he has a spare moment. I also like talking to James because sometimes he has a special juice concoction made for the day. Mix that concoction with some citron soju, which is a great summer drink. We tried their fish and shrimp tacos. They were delicious. All of the boils we have tried so far were amazing and fresh. I only tried their Shack sauce and butter garlic, but you can't go wrong with either one. The Shack sauce has a nice kick to it. I like dipping the garlic bread with the sauce. It is sinful. The calamari is also a must get! Special shout out to Cindy and Lyla, both of them were great to talk to, and they were very attentive. Each time they came by to check how the food was and to see if we needed anything else. We also like the charm of the restaurant. It is very laid back, and two to three hours can go by really quickly. Parking never seems to be an issue which is a nice plus. We will definitely be back in the future.

Takeout Review Only : Order - Cajun shrimp pasta, Bang Bang Shrimp, Mac & cheese, Garlic Bread. Cajun shrimp pasta was underwhelming to be completely honest. The flavor was there but it honestly felt more heavy than it did flavorful. Wasn't bad but I wouldn't think of ordering it again. Bang Bang shrimp was nothing to rave about. It was one of those dishes that you don't really care for. Mac & cheese was the most disappointing of all tbh. I love mac & cheese, and there is not much better in this world than a rlly good mac & cheese. This mac & cheese was too creamy but it didn't have that lovely cheesy flavor. Makes me wonder what kind of cheese they are using and if it's real cheese. I mentioned above that this is strictly a review for my takeout order. For the most part I saw great reviews of this place and I am more than willing to try some different stuff for dine-in.

Stumbled upon this place and it was worth every penny! We got the Snow Crab Combo with their signature sauce, and practically devoured every thing in the bowl. This place is so worth the price! I would say the Mac n cheese needs a little more salt. A couple of the clams and mussels did have some sand or grit in it, other than that it was great! The dipping sauce with the calamari was fantastic! The staff was extremely friendly and gave thorough answers for all of our questions! I'll be coming back here again!

I just want to say that I’m so happy that my husband stumbled upon this restaurant. It truly was an amazing meal. The boil was fresh and cooked very well. There’s a variety of sauces to choose from (we chose the Shake Sauce) and that was delicious. The Bang Bang Shrimp was also fantastic. It’s truly worth the money as you get quite a lot. They also have burgers and pasta, which I’m most definitely going to try next time. They sounded delicious and I cannot wait to get to eat them. The service was superb. The staff was kind, friendly, and informative as well. Their suggestions were on point and led to a great meal.I am going back there, 100% sure, because it has a nice vibe and makes eating there a truly enjoyable experience.10/10 recommend to anyone in the area who is looking for a great place for seafood boils!

This spot is not an easy spot to miss. If you see a shack on the corner of the street, I highly recommend checking this spot out! $1 HH oysters Friday - Sunday!!!!! Don't think I have found a $1 oyster spot in this area of queens and I'm so glad to have found this place! Would definitely come back here for a boil combo because it seems very worth it. My friend and I ordered 2 dozen oysters, a shrimp cocktail, and fried calamari. You can get a side order of fries or a beverage if you check in on Yelp, which we did!! The oysters were super thick and meaty, but not too briny either. The vinegar it came with paired sooooooo nicely with the oysters! We actually got full off 2 dozen oysters. The calamari was cooked to perfection; it was super crispy and crunchy and had a very generous heap of squid in every bite. Shrimp cocktail was good when paired with the sauce it came with; the sauce was very horseradishy so I really enjoyed that. I wish they gave a little more though, because it was just so easy to eat. They also serve Taiwanese beer and I highly recommend trying the grapefruit Taiwan beer! It's a little lighter than the schoefferhofer, but really fragrant and way more enjoyable to drink. Drinks are too pretty cheap here, so honestly I think this is a great place to chill and grab a drink with friends too. Service was awesome! They were super friendly and nice and everything came out so quick! Would def bring some friends back here. Great for groups!!

Great menu with affordable prices and amazing service. Not a fancy affair but the food is all very fresh and the options are abundant. Great spot for family or large groups if you need to please a lot of different tastes.
