I went to a function here Saturday July 19th 2025 the food was so disgusting that my mom got sick from it...who serves cheese broccoli at a function, the potatoes were hard and the food cold...when people are spending there money for a function to be catered they are putting their trust in that person and they expect quality....I would not recommend them catering just rent the hall. All the guests were disappointed with the food and people left a catered function hungry. People need to do better in these times when things are so expensive.

Have to give Thomisana's and Tony the manager five stars!!! First of all the professionalism can't be beat when visiting to inquire and to get information. Tony will take care of you and take the time to answer ALL of your questions, as well as give very helpful advice to make your event as special as it can be. He is there every step of the way and works with you if any problems come up on your side. His team is also very professional and had the place decorated beautifully. Now let's get to the food... top notch!! I couldn't believe how good the food was (and ALL the guests loved it). Don't hesitate to use Thomasina's for anything from a repast to an all out party/celebration. Thanks Tony to you and your staff for making everything wonderful!

Food was horrible, collard greens were tuff bitter tasting and full of stems, mac/cheese was severely over cooked, the fried whiting was soo over cooked that you needed a knife to cut through it once you got through it, it was dry hard and tasteless. Candie yams looked like they just opened the can and poured it in a chafing dish. And on top of all that horrible tasting food it was cold.
I would not recommend this place to anyone for food. After just sampling the little I did I became sick, nausea, headache, diarrhea..whew never ever again. Even the person sitting next to me couldn't eat the food and just kept looking at it and shaking their head.

It's was ok. The establishment is old they need to remodel this place..
The food, on the other hand, was nasty and very, very, very salty. I wasn't happy with that at all. One taste and mine went to the garbage. And I noticed a lot of my guests were saying the same thing the food was too salty..Especially for the Senior Citizens.....
1 star for me....

Horrendous experience—absolutely unacceptable. It pains me to say this, but I cannot continue to support a black-owned business if the quality is this abysmal. I’ve been attending an annual Christmas party here for years, and somehow, it keeps getting worse. This year was the breaking point.

First, the dinner setup was laughable. Mismatched utensils on the table? Really? The forks looked like they were from the dollar store. It’s embarrassing and unprofessional. Then, they had the audacity to charge $12 for watered-down drinks served in plastic cups at a cash bar. The food was barely edible—rubbery vegetables and nothing to redeem the experience.

This place is beyond saving. Honestly, it’s time for them to shut their doors. This level of service is insulting.

The family of Dorell Strachan recently held a repast at Thomasina’s and was very pleased with the food and service. Tony worked within our tight schedule and offered many options at very competitive prices. The customer service was also excellent.

My siblings and I recently had our father’s repass here. Tony was amazing. The food was excellent. The decor was perfect. The staff was courteous professional and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone having an event

Food was tasty but they ran out of some items by the time our table was called.

Food was horrible. Fish tasted like it was frozen and fried with no seasoning. Rice and peas were slightly soggy. Vegetables were barely steamed and definitely not seasoned. Cornbread was like eating a sponge that dries up I. Your mouth at 1st bite. Sautéed chicken or whatever it was was not enticing. Fried chicken was better but nothing to write home about. Biscuit was so hard couldn't even bite it. The servers look unhappy at what they do. Especially the girl. I truly believe this was a waste of money. The venue was decent but that's it. It is wheelchair accessible if that matters. The iced tea was good and the 🥗. But how can you mess up a salad🤷🏽‍♀️. They need a redo of cooks and servers. Good luck!

The food was horrible. The Mac and Cheese tasted burned, the turkey wings and chicken looked undercooked, the fried chicken had fried fathers attached, the cornbread was dry. The staff was polite and I was made to feel like I HAD TO give my coat to be hung up.

I gave my mother a surprise birthday party on February 10, 2024. The manager was very accomodating and fulfilled all of my request. The house DJ was awesome. The room was set up perfectly. The food very tasty and nice and hot. the staff was very pleasant. I brought my own cake and the staff cut, plated and served it free of charge. Money well spent.

Choosing Thomasina's catering hall to host a milestone 75th birthday was without a doubt a great one! Tony was professional and accommodating right from the start, making adjustments to the menu, table linens and table arrangements just to ensure that the vision would be carried out well!
Crystal was amazing in incorporating some of the decorations that I had brought along into the already beautiful setup that she had laid out. Crystal, lead hostess, along with Bryant and Corin made our guests feel welcomed and served with a smile. It was so refreshing to see young people operate with such professionalism.
Zoe greeted our guests and checked their coats with such grace. Made everyone feel welcomed from the time they walked in the door. Zoe went above and beyond at the end of the night to ensure that everything we had was packed away and even helped to bring it out to the car.
Even when some guests came almost towards the end of our time, Tony and the staff ensured that not one of our guests left hungry. This level of service is second to none and was truly appreciated.
Overall, I must say that the experience at Thomasina's was excellent and I am glad that this neighborhood gem is still around to serve the community after all these years!

Excellent choice for celebrating a family member's milestone 75th birthday! Working with the manager, Tony, was always a professional and engaging experience. Tony ensured our vision was executed to our satisfaction and went the extra mile to accommodate special requests; such as creating a quiet retiring room for nursing mothers to use while in attendance at the party. This was greatly appreciated, thank you!
The servers, Bryant, Corin, and Crystal were professional and generous with happy dispositions. Coat check attendant, Zoe, had a warm welcoming personality that set the guests at ease upon arrival. Thank you to Tony and all the staff that helped make our event a beautiful success. I highly recommend Thomasina's Catering Hall!

Went here for the Thanksgiving dinner and a show. The collard greens were soaked in vinegar and not cooked, mostly everything was cold. The fried whiting fish was delicious. I got some from a fresh pan that was hot. They took forever to serve the food due to only a few servers. The show was a live band which was okay. This was a last minute decision being that everything else was booked. This place looks old and it needs work.
