Not a fan of the waitress’ attitude to start with. Being a smart ass and ignorant without patience is not pleasant. Was excited to try the food here and that’s the first impression you give. I still ordered plenty of food: 6 dishes to try since that’s what I came here for. The service became much better after that sour taste. Food Was delicious.

Generous portions and a menu that goes beyond the usual Filipino staples.
Really appreciated seeing harder-to-find dishes like dinuguan (excellent depth and balance) and inihaw na panga (tuna jaw). The grilled fish had good char, though leaned a bit salty and lean for the cut. Ukoy was nicely crisp, but used larger peeled shrimp.
Overall, a solid spot for Filipino comfort food especially if you’re looking to explore beyond adobo and lumpia

I’ve been to this place several times and have never been disappointed by the food. The quality is great, and the prices are amazing honestly, it’s hard to believe a restaurant like this still exists in NYC at this price point.

I’ve mentioned this before: when customers are expected to pack their own leftovers, it does take away a bit from the service experience. That said, considering how affordable everything is, it’s somewhat understandable. If they were ever able to improve that part of the service, it would make the experience even better, though I don’t necessarily expect it to change since it’s how they’ve operated for a long time.

The stars are for the manager, Isaac, ONLY. My husband and I have been trying all of the Filipino spots to find our favorites
this one was unfortunately terrible as far as the food is concerned. I downloaded grubhub this week and they were my first order, BIG MISTAKE. Mainly the pork adobo. As you can see in the photo, the portion is absurd. The container it came in was smaller than my hand.. and I’m only 5 ft, 110 lbs! So my hands are tiny! The bowl had 4, FOUR!!, pieces of meat! Mind you their prices are high and do not include rice which fine. But that lil crap bowl is $17!!! If you do the math, that’s $4.25 per piece of meat. Can you grasp how ridiculous that is??! Plus, it wasn’t even good.. it was watery and the soy sauce was over powering. The ginisang ampalaya was also watery and lacked flavor. The pancit was a bit too “wet” for my taste. Food definitely did not give me the nostalgic feeling I was hoping for when I eat Filipino food.. I wanted to be reminded of my lola.

As for Isaac, I called immediately and explained to him my frustration and he was very empathetic and refunded the whole order.. which was a surprise because I was only expecting to be refunded for the adobo. So, Isaac, thank you for being a good manager. Sorry, for cursing (not at you but at the issue). But you’re welcome to say it to the owner or chef on my behalf. Anyway, that’s what customer service is all about. Unfortunately, I will not ever order from this place again. Renee’s on Roosevelt is much better - both the food (nostalgic) and the service. Isaac should work there instead.

Servers were friendly and gives off the auntie vibe. I had my nephew with me and she offered us free ice cream for him. That was a sweet gesture.

My family has been coming here for a while because we live in the area. I do love their food but today their service was horrible. They were rude because we did a walk-in and did not have a reservation. I understand they were busy, however they did not have to treat us disrespectfully. I will never come back again. They need to re-check their staff. Clearly they care more about foreigners than fellow Filipinos. We didn't even bother eating there anymore so we left after a long wait.
