I decided this place out since we drive by it everyday. We went on a Friday afternoon around 4pm. The atmosphere was nice; Good music and it wasn’t loud.
We ordered a bunch of things to try out on the lunch special and was pleasantly surprised at how delicious EVERYTHING was.
Wings (buffalo and sweet chilli) Veggie Creamy Pasta Fries (for my 4 year old) Jerk chicken w/rice and peas And Chips and guacamole (least favorite item ordered)
I would recommend everything but the guacamole. It wasn’t “nasty” just wasn’t seasoned to my liking.
Thank you Shelly (our waitress/hostess) for a great experience! She was extremely attentive, thorough and professional. She took the time to make sure my son was comfortable and enjoying him self as well.

I’ve been coming to this spot for a while now. They blast the music so loud you can’t think but I know it’s a Guyanese thing.
The bartenders make the atmosphere they maintain it run it and do a great job
The vegetarian food options need some work but are good for the most part

Great location, ambient atmosphere, very affordable prices, delicious food and exceptional customer service. The hookah was really good and lasted a long while and the drinks were amazing. The food was fresh and delicious. A big shout out to the server. She constantly kept checking on each and every table to ensure that everyone was alright or if they needed something. 10/10 for her phenomenal customer service.

The ambiance was electric. The owner really puts an emphasis on customer service and goes out of his way to make customers comfortable. The prices are good and Happy Hour Margaritas and Shots are worth every penny. We ordered the Tropic combo and everything was delish. The waitress was excellemt. Do feel free to ask Questions!! I would recommend this lounge to hang out and have some drinks and relax. Best time!!

Tropix has become a neighborhood staple. It’s a recently opened restaurant and bar which offers a relaxed atmosphere for mature adults. People go there to unwind after a long day, grab a drink with friends, chat with the friendly bartenders, and grab a bite to eat. Karaoke nights are a big hit for those who like to sing. While I’ve heard that the food is good; there’s not too much education among staff on the ingredients for someone with food allergies. This could be bettered as there is an increase in food allergies in the Caribbean community over the past few years. Folks who never had an allergy reaction are reporting an uptick in food allergies.
Overall, Tropix gets a 5 score out of ten. Once the food education is emphasized; I’m sure they’ll corner the niche market in the South Ozone Park area of Queens, NY. There are not many classy bars for people to enjoy in the neighborhood, so this could become a one stop shop for residents.
