Just stopped in this new neighborhood spot. Welcoming staff, comfortable space, and the food was great! We loved the homemade tortillas for the tacos, the delicious chicken enchiladas and the great sangria. Looking forward to adding this to our regular rotation.

The high points are the quality of his food that matched the pricing here and makes Don Camote a stand out. From the service, aesthetics and more importantly the food!Authentic Mexican music played as we sipped the smoothest cool sangrias with crisp apples. The lighting was perfect and so pretty. The portion sizes were all fair for the prices especially the ceviche. The homemade arc shaped chips were so creative than the usual ones. The dishes were all creatively seasoned too. The fondue was a cheese lovers dream. The steak had a great marinade and the beans stole the show. The guac on top of the enchiladas was delicious and not over worked.Homemade dessert was either sweet potato flan or chocolate flan. We had the latter with a splash of rum. Some of these small touches, imo matter and set a restaurant apart. The food however, has to be five stars and it was. All around a great night.

So glad we got a chance to go to this hidden gem right off Broadway and 37th street last night! They don't have their liquor license yet but that didn't stop us from having a good time.We got there and the place was empty. We sat down in a corner and were immediately given their menu. We started off with a glass of sangria each and guacamole. We settled on sharing a grilled steak quesadilla and two chicken tinga tacos and a carne asada one. Everything was so fresh and flavorful that we decided to get a chicken tinga quesadilla to end our night. The sauces were good and just all the ingredients melt in your mouth. I didn't even need salt and usually I put salt on everything! We will definitely be back as soon as they start serving margaritas! We will see you in the summer Don Camote!

Don Camote is a little restaurant hidden on the side streets of Astoria. I really like the Mexican decor, pictures and overall vibe of the place. The cafe de olla is on point, definitely wakes you up. The cheese fondue with chorizo came with handmade tortillas for dipping and was delicious to share. I got the chorizo bacon omelette, very flavorful. I will definitely be back for brunch and dinner!

Went here for the first time last night and had a great time. Both Reggie and Sebastian were extremely friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious! I was starving, so I got two quesadillas (steak and shrimp) and my friend got the veggie quesadilla. Everything was fantastic! And for $14-$16 each for the excellent quality, you can't go wrong. (You might need two quesadillas, but even $30 for that much food is completely worth it.--I was happily busting at the seams). We also tried a sweet potato flan for dessert and it was a perfect finish to the meal!Seriously, go check it out.you won't be disappointed.

My family and I first experience the previous owned restaurant of the owner "Viva Viva Taqueria". Upon the foreclosure of the restaurant, we constantly kept monitoring the social media page (IG) for any update of the restaurant re opening. Not too long ago upon checking "Viva Viva Taqueria" IG page, we seen that the owner opened up a new restaurant, "Don Camote". We immediately set out to go and support or local.Let me tell you the food did not change. It only got better. I highly recommend Don Camote. It is definitely 100% AUTHENTIC Mexican food. Don Camote has easily become my favorite restaurant due to the high integrity of their food along with great customer service.I have shared a few images of the delicious food that I am currently craving as I write this well deserved review. One of our favorite appetizers has to be hands down, the cheese fondue. It is served with hand made corn tortillas and it soooo good!. The taste resembles to a popusa. The drinks are phenomenal. I sincerely love this restaurant and their food. Don Camote, you have earned yourself a very loyal customer :)PLEASE STOP BY AND VISIT. PLEASE SUPPORT THIS SMALL BUSINESS <3

The food at Don Camote is absolutely incredible. I've had the tortilla soup, tacos, quesadilla, and chilaquilles - all extraordinary. The atmosphere is wonderful and never too crowded. Have some sangria with your food and enjoy a chat with the owners, who are extremely welcoming and kind.
