Early dinner so place was all to ourselves. Nice casual restaurant. Nice wait staff and really delicious food.
We've lived in Rhinbeck since 2002, and as many locals and visitors know, there is no shortage of fine dining in our small town! Gigi's continues to surprise me by expanding seasonally, each year with new, delicious, and varied menu items. They keep the local faves like the Barbina salad, Bianca skizza, and truffle fries, to name a few, but add intriguing and tantalizing menu items each season. Gigi Trattoria offers a warm, inviting, and lovely ambiance with a chic and fancy vibe. The atmosphere is welcoming, featuring a very nice outside seating area, though the inside can get dark. The staff is generally attentive, friendly, and helpful, though service can slow as the restaurant gets busy.
The menu is great, with tons of gluten-free options and delicious choices for anyone with dietary restrictions. The food is outstanding, fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared with high-quality ingredients. Dishes are cooked to perfection, generous in portion, and memorable. Standout items include the best burger, a delicious burrata appetizer, and a good flatbread. The menu combines traditional Italian roots with a creative touch.
For drinks, there is a fun menu featuring a sake margarita, a black cosmo, and to-die-for chocolate martinis. Dessert includes a most delicious sweet potato cheesecake that might be seasonal. The experience is absolutely wonderful, though a bit pricey. It is a highly recommended restaurant for an excellent meal in a welcoming setting.
