A staple restaurant in Rhinebeck, I love this place because they are not afraid of flavor. Lots of garlic and herbs. mediterranean/Spanish inspired food, I love the gambas and the sauce it comes in! Laura, the owner creates a beautiful menu. Kelly, the bartender creates simple yet thoughtful cocktails. The menu changes seasonally. A do not miss for lunch or dinner!

Delicious appetizer (burratta) and red lentil soup. I ordered a burger and it was cooked perfectly and also delicious. Our waiter, Tim, was outstanding. Very attentive without being at all intrusive, and was knowledgeable about the food, beer and wine choices.

I went to Gigi’s for the first time yesterday. We did not have a reservation, but the owner graciously found us a place on a busy Saturday night. The young people in our group wanted “Italian.” Frankly, I was expecting pizza. I think the menu had that option, but I was taken with the variety on the menu. There were several appetizers, entrees, etc., but just the right amount, i.e., not overwhelming like some places can be. I chose the pork medallions, with a vegetable ragu on a bed of mashed potatoes with green beans on the side. I am a girl of the south and appreciate a good green bean. I find most restaurants treat them as a throwaway. However, these may have been the best I’ve ever had. Just the right texture and seasoning. The pork dish was amazing. I wish I had better skills to describe it. All i can really say is to try it. You will not be disappointed and may be amazed as I was.

Gigi's has been my favorite restaurant in Rhinebeck for many years. I feel they don't skimp on quality of ingredients, and that so is key to great Mediterranean cuisine. It's expensive, but it's so good! While they have a lot of meat /poultry/fish dishes, as a vegetarian I really appreciate the complex flavors and perfect level of doneness of their vegetable dishes. The skizzas have a uniquely thin crispy crust and inventive, delicious combinations of toppings. I love to have pasta and a big salad, or a couple of the generously-sized vegetable sides and a glass of wine. I always leave feeling full and satisfied yet light and alert. I especially love the Sicilian cauliflower and the velvety Tuscan beans with Gran Padano --outstanding comfort food.

We stopped in for some tea and lunch. The service was efficient and the food was fresh. We both enjoyed our meals. The restaurant has a nice setup. My friend got a burger and tea. For both of us the bill was a little high but the food was excellent.

Food is perfectly adequate but not more. High point is the thin crust pizza.

Gigi is one of our fav in Rhinebeck. Great food and friendly service. We've always sat outside because of kids, but this time as it was quite cold outside, we sat inside for the first time. I was surprised to see how many seating are available inside as from the outside the restaurant didn't seem to be that big. They have a good size room all the way in the back to accommodate extra seating or large parties. Their Tuscan fries are sooo good (crispy, fried with various herbs such as rosemary and sage) and my little guy enjoyed the mussels as his main meal. They don't have a children's menu, but can accommodate penne with butter or speghetti sauce if requested. Their flatbread/pizza are also very good for children. The dishes are not cheap ($26-35) so just be aware to spend a good penny... But that seems to be the trend in most places now. P.S. they don't charge a uplift fee for using a credit card which is good.

Gigi's has become our go-to dining establishment within the Rhinebeck/Red Hook area - and by go-to, I mean we eat here 1-2 times per week, sometimes on consecutive days. And we plan to keep coming back! I am not usually a lamb eater but one day I tried the lamb skewers appetizer and fell in love - I order it every single time, and sometimes I order two portions. Between the delicious African spices in the lamb, the tahini dipping sauce, and the goat cheese and kalamata olives in the accompanying greek salad, the flavors tick every box for me and I salivate just thinking about this delicious dish. A must try. I am also a huge fan of the lobster ravioli - the creamy white sauce is amazing, and the raviolis are stuffed with generous portions of lobster meat. The shrimp on top is a bonus. I often order a caesar salad to accompany the ravioli, and it's a perfect pair. Some reviewers have noted the caesar dressing is not traditional - and it's not - but that's what I like about it. As much as I enjoy a creamy or tangy creaser dressing (and I do), what I like about Gigi's dressing is that it is light and airy. The skizzas are absolutely amazing - super thin crust, and often times I order the special skizza of the day because they have such creative toppings. Calamari is easily the best in the area - and frankly the best we have eaten after lots and lots of traveling around the US and Caribbean. There are countless other items on the menu that we have eaten and loved - the seasonal seafood salad app reminds me of the recipe my Sicilian grandma used when she was alive. Burgers are delicious. Fries are crazy good. And if you like to sit at the bar for a drink, I strongly suggest the black cosmo with currant C - it is so good, OMG. Thank you to Laura and the entire Gigi's staff for making us feel welcome and part of the restaurant family. When the entire staff knows what you are going to drink and what you are going eat without having to ask, you know you are home. Can't wait for my next meal...

Finally made it to Gigi and we were very pleased. Service was good, not over the top friendly, but efficient. We tried a variety of menu items, and everyone was pleased with their choices. The artichoke appetizer had great flavor, the calamari was tasty (but I will say the portion was very small considering the price), and the Sicilian cauliflower was a hit. If you don't like thin-crust pizza, then the "skizza" isn't for you. VERY thin, but very flavorful. The space is very nice, with a small dining room up front near the bar and then tables in a back room. Glad we finally made it!

This review is only about service and how horrible it was. No bread service. When entree was brought by food runner our app plates were still in front of us. Never asked how anything was. Never refilled water glasses once. Never asked if we wanted another round of drinks. Someone accidentally spilt a glass at the table and I watched him look at the table and look away without offering to help the situation. Food was good. Shame the FOH ruined it.
