Pretty to think so is a great dining option in Rhinebeck with an interesting menu of food and drinks, and a great vibe. The seating is limited, and creates an intimate space. Our seats offered a great view of the bar where the bartender was creating magnificent cocktails and it was delightful to see her in action!

The food was generally excellent. The honey roasted carrots were our favorite, and the roasted chicken was also very good. The sweet corn risotto didn't appear very appetizing but the dish itself was delicious. The blood orange Moscow Mule was also good. The Shrimp cocktail was also quite good!

All in all, we had a great experience and would highly recommend it!

We came here after visiting another restaurant in the area, and it was like coming in for a breath of fresh air. The drinks were incredible, the staff were incredible, the vibe was incredible. We have a few home turn bars that are own, and we left feeling like this was one in the same. We decided to come back the next day to get the full experience.

Coming back to review as we came back the next night for food. We had three additional drinks, and not a single one did we regret. The mixologist is amazing.

We also had the oysters, truffle risotto, duck confit. Plates were cleaned. Strawberry tart, and pistachio pannacotta, both were delicious.

Love to Maggie!

We came for a work dinner and the Pretty To Think So team was so accommodating. The food and drinks were awesome!

Underwhelming and amateurish food. I think the focus is more on superficial elements and how the plates and space will look in the photos on social media rather than on the execution and taste.

First of all, the wine list was very underwhelming, and white/ skin contact wines were not properly chilled.

Appetizers: asparagus, poached egg, and trout appetizer was in a liquid soup that resembled sauce. There was no bread offered to soak that up. We were given tiny sharing plates that were too small to share our dishes. There was sand residue from frisee or radishes. (Also putting frisee nearly on everything to prove you are farm-to-table restaurant is silly). As for caviar frites, they were simply baked fingerlings and there was nothing special about them.

Everything took a really long time and we sat around and waited between each course.

As for the mains, duck confit (more frisee on top!), itself was ok, but the combo of watery beans (probably straight from the can) and soggy baby bok choy (who in the world would do it to this vegetable?) in it was truly off-putting. The hanger steak was cooked well but lacked flavor.

The desserts took another 15 or 20 min to come out even though they were prepped ahead. Pistachio/rhubarb panna cotta turned out to be the best dish of the night. The strawberry tart was underwhelming for two reasons: the bland, lacking taste and texture pastry and sort of jamm-like filling despite fresh strawberry season in full swing in the area (so much for farm to table again!)

On the plus side, our server was very friendly and tried to do her best despite being overwhelmed.

Gluten free dream. Incredible. Drive here from Brooklyn just to eat. Don’t walk run.

Unbelievable dinner. If you want to dance in your mouth, eat here. If you want an experience that is out of this world. Yeah this is the spot. Sat next to a couple who came all the way from Cali to try this restaurant!!!!

Loved this place! We came here from Massachusetts to celebrate our anniversary. We made a reservation online and were sat promptly. It's hard to find a dedicated gluten free restaurant, especially fine dining. We got the carrot bread, beet salad, duck for two and chocolate torte for dessert. The carrot bread came over an aioli with some sort of pickled veggie on the side-delicious combo. The beet salad was delicious but it would have been better if they had cut the lettuce. Also it was so dark in there I couldn't see the bottom of the bowl haha but I got it sorted. The duck was really good but the star of the show was the potato that came with it. It was a twice baked truffle potato and it was the best potato I've ever had in my entire life. They also had no problem making it dairy free for me even though it usually comes with dairy. I love how accommodating they are! The duck came with the potato and broccolini over a pan gravy. The gravy was also amazing. The chocolate torte we got for dessert was also delicious. It had some sort of fruit topping, maybe rhubarb? Whatever it was, it was delicious and complimented the chocolate perfectly. We also had some drinks from the cocktail menu. Their cocktails were unusual and complex and were expertly crafted by the bartender.
The place is small, I think seven tables, but they also had outside seating with outdoor heaters. My only complaint is that it's very dark in there. I had to hold my menu up to the candle to read it. But that's part of the vibe. I enjoyed the music and very much enjoyed the food and drinks. We stayed at the Beekman Arms next door. We can't wait to come back someday!

Had such a delectable dinner here. Innovative, delicious, fresh food and ingredients. Our party of 4 had salads, Skate sandwich, halibut and duck confit. ALL great. Go and partake!

Came in for dinner solo and dined at the bar.

The bone marrow beef tartar was phenomenal. I will likely return just for this. Even the popcorn they served it over had such brilliant flavor.

Also ordered the steak; cooked perfectly, and was okay following the appetizer.

Seemed to have a younger crowd vibe the night I was there.

Everything here was *so* good! The caviar frites were the perfect way to start the meal, I’d order this again in a second. The potatoes were crispy in the best possible way, loved the garlic served with it. We also got the crispy mushrooms and the trout, both were excellent. Looking forward to trying more on a future visit. Really great atmosphere and service too

My wife and I had dinner here while on an Upstate NY trip. As a part of this trip, we visited several towns and ate at a bunch of different restaurants. We both agreed - {pretty to think so} was a cut above and easily our favorite restaurant we went to! The atmosphere was on point, with low lighting and a great backing soundtrack of mellow modern hits and older classics. The service was great too - our waiter was really attentive and kind. And the food was beyond excellent. One of those “each bite is crazy good” kind of experiences. If you have the chance, don’t miss stopping here. Well worth the cost!

Their whole menu is gluten free, expect for the beer. Their food is so fresh. I ordered the pork baby ribs and they tasted so awesome. The staff was great as well. I have celiac disease and had absolutely no stomach issues. They will also make adjustments for those who follow a dairy free diet. I always forget to take pictures but next time I will.

This was the best dining experience I’ve had in my life. I’ve eaten at Tao, Cipriani, Oheka Castle, nothing compared to the vibe at Pretty to think so. Atmosphere was sexy, dim, felt very intimate and exclusive. Food was tier one, oysters were amazing, best I’ve ever had! I had the trout, hubby had the steak. Both were delicious. The drinks did exactly what they needed to do! All the staff was friendly and very genuine. I wish I could’ve tipped more. They have something really special here, a synergy I’ve never felt in a dining space before and it was reflected in the total experience. I am so excited to go back to try everything else. The caviar frites don’t dissapoint!

Just came for a nice cocktail. Drink and staff were wonderful. Looking forward to staying for food next time. The pictured cocktail is "The M" - their take on a Martini. "goat cheese fat washed organic vodka, isolation gin, local dry vermouth, olive brine". Tip: you don't need to know what all that means to know it's delicious and smooth!

This is a restaurant with a cool vibe, and very nicely decorated. The bar looks especially inviting although we dined at a table inside. I had a view of the bartender and enjoyed watching him mix some amazing cocktails. We had a tasty beet salad, and two nice entrees, one being the short ribs. My only complaint with Pretty to think so is that once it gets dark outside, you can't see what you are eating because the lights are so low. We even asked for an extra candle for our table, but that didn't help much in terms of being able to see the food on our plates. If you are over 45 and want to be able to see what you are eating, consider sitting at the bar which seemed to have better light. This would be a 5-star review if I'd been able to see what I was eating. My husband also mentioned that the metal chair he sat in was cold and uncomfortable - I was sitting on a banquette. Maybe the restaurant can add chair pads to those metal chairs?
