“Been to Levant a couple of times now and I feel i’m ready to share my experience. First time I ordered a sausage feteer to go. It was still perfectly crispy when I got it home. I like the square bottom bag and the octagonal box the feteer comes in. Today, I was in the mood for a wrap. I ordered the beef shawarma. They toasted the wrap - nice and hot on a giant panini press. It was so juicy I didn’t need the special Levant sauce. Then I thought let me dig the wrap in the sauce and wow. Tasted even better. Will be back to sample their meat pies next!“

“I was visiting friends in NY, and on the day of my return to FL, my girlfriend took me to Panino Rustico, where I met JACK, he was excellent and authentic New Yorker, with accent and all (adorable).. The menu choices are excellent, we had truffle fries, I had the P48 Panini (steak, mozzarella with peppers & onions) and to cap off as a desert, I had the Iced Nutella Latte... All were excellent. “GERMAN DONER KEBAB - AN ENLIGHTENMENT If you're from Berlin, it feels like there's a kebab store on every other corner. So I can recognize and judge a kebab when I see it. Even just leaving Berlin and Brandenburg, the kebab experience changes within Germany. The further you get away from Berlin, the worse the kebabs get. Some time ago in New York, I discovered one or two places trying to make a kebab. Unfortunately, I have not yet been able to find a proper kebab in New York, despite the name kebab. What was being sold was called a kebab, but had very little to do with a kebab and tasted even less like a kebab. All the more enlightenment then... the recommendation of a friend living in Brooklyn. "German Doner Kebab" in Brooklyn. And then the first kebab there since 2018 here in New York. I can't even describe how happy I was. It looked like a kebab, it tasted like a kebab and came pretty close to a kebab from Berlin. Really well made. Incl. tax 12.51 dollars is a bit steep, but still good value for New York. The portion was good and filling. Everything is really fresh and well seasoned. The bread was just as it should be, thin and crispy. This was pretty much the best kebab I've had in a very, very long time (with the exception of one visit to Berlin). I will definitely go back there again. GERMAN DONER KEBAB - EINE ERLEUCHTUNG Wenn man aus Berlin kommt, hat man gefühlt an jeder zweiten Ecke einen Dönerladen. Ich kann also einen Döner erkennen und beurteilen, wenn ich ihn sehe. Allein schon Berlin und Brandenburg verlassend wird das mit dem Döner innerhalb von Deutschland anders. Je weiter man sich von Berlin entfernt, desto schlechter werden die Döner. In New York entdeckte ich schon vor einiger Zeit den einen oder anderen Anbieter mit dem Versuch, einen Döner zu machen. Bisher konnte ich leider in New York trotz Bezeichnung Döner keinen ordentlichen Döner entdecken. Das was da verkauft wurde, heißt zwar Döner, hatte mit Döner aber recht wenig zu tun und schmeckte noch viel weniger nach einem Döner. Um so mehr dann die Erleuchtung... die Empfehlung eines Freundes in Brooklyn lebend. "German Doner Kebab" in Brooklyn. Und dort dann der erste Döner seit 2018 hier in New York. Ich kann gar nicht beschreiben, wie sehr ich mich gefreut hatte. Es sah aus wie ein Döner, es schmeckte wie ein Döner und kam schon recht nah an einen Döner aus Berlin heran. Richtig gut gemacht. Incl. Tax 12,51 Dollar ist zwar sportlich, aber für New York wiederum preiswert. Die Portion ordentlich und sättigend. Wirklich alles frisch und gut gewürzt. Das Brot genau so wie es sein muss, dünn und knusprig. Also das war seit sehr sehr langer Zeit so ziemlich der beste Döner (mit Ausnahme einem Besuch in Berlin), den ich seit langer Zeit gegessen habe. Dahin kehre ich auf alle Fälle wieder zurück. -------------------------------------------------“

“This deli has been around for over 40 years, maybe even 50. There were 3 sisters who each had a deli on Queens , and their German recipes lived on after they retired. (Though I admit one of the sisters Helga, of Expressway Deli off Bell Blvd and Horace Harding, but they have been gone 15 years now. Her potato salad would travel to visit family and friends 250 or more miles packed in Ice. )“

“The food here is very good. They cook the food fresh in front of you. I went here on my lunch break one day and ordered two tostadas, they cooked the raw chicken right there. The food was well seasoned and it was cooked to order. As they were making my tostadas another cool took a tray of baked chicken out of the oven. It looked so good I almost canceled my tostadas for the chicken. Needless to say the tostadas were delicious. If you’re in the area give this place a try.“

I loved the kippered salmon sandwich. I cannot get enough of their butternut squash soup and the varied fresh juices. The tomato soup is also good, and the tuna panini. Now, the avocado salmon sandwich surpassed my expectations! Everything is always fresh and tasty and leaves you with a healthy vibe. Came on a Saturday, looking for different place for brunch. I was very surprised by how spacious the inside was. Really nice seating distribution compared to other shops around. The aesthetic of dark wood really cozes it up. I ordered the most random menu item, French Toast, even when there were awesome sounding specials. The menu is MASSIVE, and the food came pretty fast!
The french toast was impressively prepared, four slices with a veritable crunch on the outside and soft goodness in the center, fruit and whipped cream as a garnish. It also was a very light meal, even though french toast can be a heavy dish.
