Top quality and delicious nuevo spins on italian classics. The Parmigiano Reggiano sauce for the veal cutlet was truly awesome, a very difficult task that they nailed. Ambience leveraged the historical aspects of the building combined with interesting touches, like antique folding rulers, reminiscent of the many Italian carpenters/laborers who used to live in the area.

I really love this place but....

It is the middle of Summer in NYC and in the mid-90's, trying to dine in an non airconditioned restaurant is a horrible experience. You really need to either fix your current A/C or upgrade, it's unbearable and will not be back until temps cool.

That being said, the food is phenomenal, the service is great, and the atmosphere is a delight!
Was excited to try this place. Ordered the branzino main and it came out skin down, fused to wax paper and sitting in foil like takeout. Did not match the ambiance at all. Kind of embarrassing to eat, actually. Served with a few halves of grape tomatoes, a lemon wedge and sprigs of herb.
