only reason its a 1 star its because the drinks were good but the bartender really embarrassed me and my friend into giving her a tip not knowing it we was in a bad situation or anything. super rude & ill be refunding her tip because it was just soooo rude to put us on the spot when we just wanted to have a nice thursday night to catch up, hope that girl gets fired

Super tasty & expertly made cocktails (we had the espresso martini and medicina).
Vibe is low-key, cozy and eclectic, with lots of interesting knickknacks to look at.
Music was a bit “before our time”, like kinda boomer / hippy, but somehow fitting.
Other patrons seem friendly and warm.
We really enjoyed it and will come back.

Best espresso martini you’ll ever have— and it’s $10!
I’ve been going to the Bad Old Days since I moved to Ridgewood 8 years ago. It remains one of the neighborhood’s best bars. The relaxed and cozy vibe is exactly what an anxious nerd needs. The new renovations are much needed to reflect the weekend traffic; sleek booths replaced the antique furniture, but charm remains in the antique tables and decor, chess tabletops replaced with a high top and stools, and larger bathrooms. I hope this spot never goes under, like so many wonderful Ridgewood staples ❤️
