Holy!! Wow so Shadees has sold and Shampaige Island is the new local Carribean spot. Tried them a few months back and missed Shadees. A hard act to follow for Jamaican comfort food. But now.. wow.. Holy!!! My mouth is burning, the flavor os off the charts, and no one option is not enough. For a lunch combo I did an add on fpr a second choice. Went with Curry chicken because pf how good the scent t of curry was.. but needed one of those jerk or stewed chicken dishes. She gave me the sweeter of the two and ai can't say I know which it was. LOL Definitely add the Cabbage to the rice and peas (beans) and get a aide of mac n cheese and piece of fried chicken. Easy to share this all or take home and have some later.Ask for a few Jerk sauces for the rice.

A special thank you to this amazing restaurant!! I catered a lunch for Peconic Water sport crew in Southhold , NY yesterday and they did such an amazing job of labeling and packing the individually wrapped lunches for the boating crew . The food was amazingly delicious and the portions was perfect !!! Being from the Caribbean myself ,I am so grateful to have you all in the East End !! Keep up the good work ??❤️. Your kindness is greatly appreciated as well ?

Recently we had an international day at my school. There were over 20 countries represented with home cooked, authentic meals from around the world. My husband and I ordered fish cakes, plantain, and coconut bread. We were representing Barbados and cuisine from the West Indies. The food was cooked to perfection- absolutely delicious! Hundreds of people were at the event and every single person LOVED the food. Thank you so much for sharing your gifts with us- we have already been back and will continue to frequent your restaurant. Kudos!

Portions control is an issue here....I just spent $35 on 2 plates I got a spoonful of oxtails way too much rice and cabbage. Same with the curry goat. But I gotta say whoever is cooking this food is a artist. The flavor was amazing just can't get over the fact they didn't offer any gravy over the rice. And again portions were way off. Will be trying the again to see if it's different. Sorry we started eating before I took pics.

We love Jamaican food and were very thankful that Riverhead has a good Jamaican food restaurant and one with such friendly folks working it. Although the sign in the window says Take Out Only, we saw a staircase in this small establishment & asked if there was seating upstairs for dining in & there was! What a pleasant surprise .This building, the owner told us, was the former Greyhound Depot for the town of Riverhead & she bought it 5 years ago. It appears that her two daughters work the front area & she works the back where the wonderful, aromatic cooking happens. The menu is just large enough for variety although the sides are limited. My curried goat was filled with flavor & lots of it but maybe too much over-filling rice. The plantain was YUMMY! Our other dish of curried chicken was very short on the chicken (two "back" pieces which yielded very little chicken although it tasted really good. We would have liked more chicken than the three of four small bites.) On the other hand, we appreciated that we could get mac & cheese in place of the typically offered mixed veggies. You can get "typical" West Indian sodas (Ting, Kola, etc.), as well as coco bread (a tad dry) & patties. Aside from the food critiques, the family of women running Shadees is friendly, warm & engaging. We were also thankful to be able to enjoy our meal onsight.

It’s hard to find good West Indian food out here so Shadee’s is our go to spot for good cooking. Always fresh, always delicious.
