Black & Blue Steak and Crab, Rochester, NY

The atmosphere was was great. Our waitress Bella( at the Rochester one) was amazing. Very knowledgeable and friendly sling with our hostess and other table help. Was a great experience. The only thing I was disappointed in ( which wasn’t any of these peoples doing) was my porterhouse steak. For the money, it should have been a nice cut. It was an end cut, one that even some stores don’t use…let alone a very upscale restaurant. It was also supposed to be med rare n was med. I didn’t send it back because st least it was pink, but it was well past med rare. My crab cake was very good. The lobster and crab mac and cheese was also very good. I’d definitely recommend and go back. Just not sure if I’d get the porterhouse again. Probably go with just the filet.

Our meal selections were absolutely delicious ? — so much that, i'd begun grubbin' my wife's Lobster & Crab fondue & i DON'T eat seafood

Dined in on Sunday for the first time. It was our wedding anniversary. My husband and I were sat upstairs, the setting is beautiful. We were so happy with everything from start to finish. The food and the service were amazing! Johnny (server assistant) and Benjamin (server) were both attentive. Even the food runner was professional! Benjamin was very knowledgeable when it came to everything. This was our first dining experience that we enjoyed entirely. (Coming from the restaurant business ourselves and my husband being a chef) we were so happy. We’ve tried almost everything around Rochester but THIS is our number one. This will be our new date night spot. Thanks Benjamin for being so awesome!!!

Visiting the Finger Lakes area for the weekend. Black and Blue was recommended to the hubs and I. We were thrilled.

The food and drinks are very good here. Everything we had was very good. Service is also good... sometimes very good and staff are friendly and smile. One drawback is that some dining tables are set up near their wait station; its too busy with servers to be near it, and some tables are just too close together. That's a serious drawback considering the high cost of dining here; it takes away from intimacy with your date. That should be changed, which would elevate the atmosphere and dining experience. Very expensive. Dinner and drinks for two... $225+. Recommended, but the atmosphere could be improved.

Did not expect this to be this good. It was great. Staff was on top of it the whole time, even when they neared capacity. The food was spot on delicious and timely. Really appreciate the experience and highly recommend.

Took my husband here for his birthday. It was delicious and as he said “ it’s the best steak I’ve ever had.” Definitely worth it and at the end our waiter found input it was his birthday so before bringing the check he brought us a slice of cake to share which was good and chocolate truffles very tasty. Would definitely recommend the ny strip steak here.

We have been patronizing black and blue for over 18 years. Always celebrating anniversary, Birthdays, retirement, etc. It has always been a beautiful dining experience. These experiences were due to our waitress or waiter. A few years ago our waitress we had for years was fired because of an altercation with a patron. We were devastated she was such an asset to your restaurant. We continued dining at black and blue and again have had the same waiter for many years making our dining experience wonderful. Last night while dining at Black and Blue celebrating our anniversary we learned that once again you fired another server for the same reason. We were told by management that he just wasnt here tonite. We learned that he no longer worked at Black and Blue! He has worked for your establishment for over 18 years. He was such an asset to your restaurant and we would dine there because of him. So my question to you is do you ever have your employees backs? Where is your loyalty to your hard working servers? The customer is not always right and some people are never happy. We are loyal customers and this just leaves a really bad feeling of your establishment.
