Today I tried Captain Jim's for the first time. First, the good, and I mean really good! I ordered the fried oyster dinner with fries, and coleslaw. The oysters were large, plump, and like the fries, perfectly done to a crispy golden brown. I also appreciated that the fries were not pre seasoned, and the coleslaw was creamy without being overly dressed. The food was perfect, freshly ready right on time, and very importantly for take out, not sitting there well ahead of the scheduled pick up getting soggy in a closed container as I have encountered at other places from which Iv'e ordered fried food take out. Now for the bad…(edited) in subsequent visits, the customer service experience was far better than my first, and therefore I’m giving credit where it’s due, and amending my review to 5 stars.

This was my first time and my last time visiting this store. Bad customer service the guy was rude and when I asked him about the menu he was rude with his answer with a racist attitude I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone from the reviews I thought this would be a great place to go but I was proving wrong
Absolutely amazing experience. I didnt catch the man behind the counter's name, but he was so helpful and knowledgable. Lobster rolls are A+ and the coleslaw is too.

Fish fry is EXCELLENT.... one of very best ever have had. Been wanting to try for long time, finally did & very glad we did. Beer batter is a lite, crispy crust & fish flaky just excellent. Know now why voted one of top best fish fry in Rochester.
