There’s nothing quite as bad as finding out a reliably high-quality restaurant has gone downhill. I was super disappointed with the soggy, fast food-like burger and the menu failing to warn you you’re most likely getting a snack, not a meal... Carnegie is now off my list, unfortunately. I hope they change things around - used to be outstanding.

Food used to be much better, I’m not sure what happened. Calamari was soggy and burger was fast food like. Won’t be back.

First time here at the suggestion of a post on reddit. Dining on our anniversary. Wonderful experience from the moment we were greeted until we left. Our server Phillip was knowledgeable, attentive and funny. We started with a bottle of Henri Champliau Cremant de Bourgogne, which was superb. We shared the Flour City Bread, Butternut Squash Ravioli, Spätzle & Cheese, and Chicken Cutlet. Each dish was more impressive than the last. Can't wait to go back!

Went to Carnegie Cellars Wine Bar & Kitchen for dinner before a show at the Auditorium. The place was cozy, sophisticated but comfortable, and we were greeted right away and welcomed. The food was absolutely delicious but our dinners came out at different times. The menu states the food arrives as ready, my husbands chicken cutlet was perfect and my steak frites came about 10 minutes later but was “melt in your mouth” delicious! The service was attentive but not intrusive and we felt no rush. A great place that we will be going to again later this month and bringing friends!

A great small place with good food, and I feel is distinct enough to really separate itself from other places in the neighborhood. It's nice for a more quiet and comfortable atmosphere, as opposed to places that are bar/cocktail focused.

The scene is fresh, classy and absolutely amazing. Wine flights, sharables and specials that hit the spot. Highly recommend.

Let's Eat! The most incredible gluten-free selections on a menu I've ever encountered! Y'all know how hard I struggle to eat when dining out, & Carnegie Cellers made my foodie dreams come true. I was able to indulge in three courses with drinks and feel completely liberated. This restaurant is truly transcendent, My husband and son thoroughly reveled in their dinner too! If you're ever in Rochester, do yourself a favor and pay them a visit!

Excellent place to hang out and eat. I got the special for this particular day which was lamb chops. They were delicious!

I went here recently on the weekend and had so much fun! Not only was the food amazing, but the staff was so kind and welcoming. The hostess at the front was absolutely adorable! The atmosphere is so cozy and chic! I will be recommending this place to all my friends.

Amazing! I love this place so much! The whole staff was so kind and attentive. The food was phenomena and I love how the chef changes the menu to incorporate the different foods for the seasons!

Went on 8/26/25 with a group of 5 for wine and snacks; my first time here. The service was excellent as was the food. All who ordered wine were happy with their respective selections. We shared the following snacks which we passed around until nothing was left: Flour City Bread, Hummus, Fries, Stone Fruit Salad, Farm Lettuce Salad, and Dan Dan Noodles. I'm looking forward to going back.

My wife and I were in Rochester for family business and found this place next to the Memorial Art Gallery. Service was great and everything we ordered was delicious. Watch out for the fries, they're enough for 3-4 people, and really good. They are actually frits. They had an Italian wine by the glass that was very good (sorry, can't remember the name, but I am sure they will have more!). We really enjoyed the vibe and our waitress, great sense if humor. If you live in Rochester and haven't been to Carnegie Cellars, shame on you!

On a Friday night at 5:30 pm, we were able to be seated at the window bar top with no reservation. They offer a wide selection of wines and even local options. I wish there were more local vineyards showcased, but they have more than most restaurants in Rochester.
We got the hummus and ricotta for an appetizer, which was surprisingly fresh. Then for dinner we had the French Dip, and the Pork Chop with polenta and tomatillo relish. All of the flavors are complex and are perfect opportunity to pair new wines with. This restaurant is definitely worth it.
Might I add the bathrooms are very well designed.

Carnegie revamped their food menu & now is mostly lunch-like options with burgers, fries, etc. It is no longer a highly desired place to take a dinner date. (Maybe they lost their chef and needed to simplify the menu)?
