Some thoughts:

I thought the server was great

In terms of appearance, it looks is nice

Noise wise, it’s on the louder side (& it was only a Tuesday night)

I could be crazy, but I think the booth seating dimensions are somewhat off

Nothing was bad, but nothing knocked my socks off (example, the asparagus was underwhelming & I wish the steak was more seasoned)

We had dinner reservations at 5:45 in hopes of beating the dinner rush, which was timed perfectly. The restaurant was fairly empty while we were there. For a "fine dining" experience, there were definitely some minor hiccups like one of our menus only having one page in it, an after dinner drink not being served until our check was about to be brought, etc. Our server was amazing and took way bigger issue with these small things than we did and rectified them quickly without us even mentioning the oversights. My biggest issue is with the food. For the price, everything was underwhelming with the exception of the free bread and butter served when you sit down. The short rib entree at $42 includes one single short rib, of which there were maybe two bites of actual meat and then nothing but globs of fat (I love short rib so I'm familiar with it's naturally fatty nature - I've never experienced a short rib with hardly any actual meat on it). We found the appetizer and both entrees to be significantly oversalted. The creme brulee was easily one of the more disappointing creme brulee's I've ever had. The crust on top was not a crust at all, but what appeared to be a bunch of sugar in the raw packets sprinkled on top. It had almost no caramelization except for one small spot in the very center where the sugar granules had slightly toasted, so as a result, it fully lacked the signature caramelized taste and instead just tasted like sugary custard with more raw sugar on top. It also ruined the texture of the custard having all of the raw sugar crystals all over it because every spoonful the sugar crystals just spilled all over the bite. At $200 for two people while the restaurant is not busy, I do expect better, especially when a meal at Redd for two costs the same for far better food. The drinks and service were both excellent, so I'd return for a cocktail at the bar, but won't be revisiting for food.

My boyfriend and I went to char for our anniversary dinner and we couldn’t have been more impressed! Complimentary champagne, exceptional French onion soup, perfectly cooked steaks and delicious desserts to finish it all off! Gleyce made our evening incredibly special and we look forward to our next trip to char!!!

My friends surprised me with an early birthday dinner last night, but unfortunately we left very disappointed. If I am able to give 0 stars for service, I would because it was honestly absurd the way we were treated. Each of us ordered steak and when brought out, half of the party was not pleased. Three of my friends ordered medium rare steak but instead got well done. When brought to the attention of our server, there was no apology offered. We also ordered multiply sides and when we noticed that we were missing one, we made our server aware of it. After waiting 30-45 minutes, we decided we no longer wanted it. Again, no apology was offered nor did she check in on us giving an update. We constantly had to ask/ look for her and she was nowhere to be found. Finally, we asked to speak to the manager and to our surprise the manager’s communication was not up to par. We expressed how disappointed we were in the food and the service we were receiving and he had no words. He Did not offer an apology or alternative, but instead continued to say okay & “we did not give him any solution.” He was being very dismissive and continued to bring a steak that my friend repeatedly stated she did not want. I have worked in food service for years in the past so it was disheartening to see how management approach the situation.

This place was not at all worth what you are paying. All of our food came to us cold as can be after waiting almost an hour for it to come out. Not to mention how long we waited in between interactions with our waitress. My husband ordered one of the specials which was a strip of waygu beef, it was cold as if it had been cooked and sat for the entire hour that we waited for our food. One of the guests with us ordered steak and his came out cooked wrong as well. When someone else with us inquired about a particular soda the waitress just said “no” and that was it. It sounded like they didn’t serve soda at all she didn’t offer any alternative just simply “no” and stared at her. Very uninviting. I would not at all recommend this place. Not one part of it was redeeming and I’m so disappointed to have wasted my money here.

Ordered the Wagyu & it was cold and had a large inedible fat tendon/fat pocket. For a 130$ steak that is unacceptable. The potatoes were also cold. Server was MIA most the night & our high top (which was reserved as a booth) smelled like pee. We all left feeling as if the birthday dinner would have been better spent at literally anywhere else.

Another hugely successful wine dinner! Perfect pairings of food and wine. The Quintessa red blend being one of my favorites, I was more than happy to attend. Oysters, scallops, duck breast and Wagyu beef all prepared to perfection and paired with some very fine wines. Hats off to Brian, Allison, Monica and Lauren for outstanding service and presentation. Also to the 2 young Chefs (names escape me) for preparing such a fine assortment of delicious food. Can't wait for the next wine dinner!

By far one of the worst restaurants I’ve had .
Too pricey and steak needs seasoning it was sooooooo dry . Nothing comes with sides you have to order separately. I’m not even kidding the only thing nice is the decor
